"Is Daddy paying?"
03/23/21 • 44 min
Donna wants to go to Bonnaroo, Burning Man or Talladega. Just hearing the ‘T’ word is triggering for Cadillac Jack. It brought back some frightening memories. Brown liquor and ashes at turn 1. Shutting down the state’s third largest city in the Fall of ‘99. It’s a shuddering trip down memory lane. Needless to say, we’ll see you at the Talladega Superspeedway in April.
Caddy moves on to the other side of the racecar counter by sharing a story from this weekend at the DMV. The attendant really wanted a piece of Caddy. (We see you, Window 8.) In the end, it all worked out. Charlotte even saved the day at J. Christopher’s.
Morgan Wallen just spent his 10th week at the top of the charts. It’s a huge deal, but not the biggest story out of Country music this week. The main headline is from Garth Brooks- Chris Gains is back. Confused? Join the party. Donna and Cadillac Jack shed some light on the alter ego who may have purchased 1.5 million copies of his own album. Plus, did you know that Matthew McConaughey starred as Walkaway Joe with Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley?
Before the show taps out, Donna and Cadillac Jack say a bit about the Atlanta story that has been on national news this week. It’s a somber tone about tragedies, family and the importance of doing the right thing. Lastly, you’ll hear a few Pod Peeps and their favorite two-handed-songs as a way to lighten the show. Let us know about your own two-handers and if you have advice from years at Talladega. What exactly is Donna in for? 7704646024.

Call me, please.
Cadillac Jack was roped into a Georgia Public Broadcasting telethon. He and Tina Turner ended up raising over $300 on the program. Morgan Wallen is now at week 9 at the top of the charts. Donna, Megan and Harry Styles all developed the same moves. It’s just another Thursday here at the My Second Act podcast.
There’s a new season of Caddy Wagon with Ritchey and Raider coming. To prep, Caddy has been taking ride alongs with Officer Phil Ritchey. Caddy “takes off his silly hat” to discuss some of the incidents he has seen in recent weeks. It’s a heavier segment that will remind you to love and check in with each other. Donna’s takeaway is that some of this year’s changes are here to stay and it’s important to take them seriously. Most importantly, give yourself some grace.
Caddy almost had a stroke (we really shouldn’t say that) when he got a text with the three dreaded words- “Call me, please.”
The next segment of the show covers Todd Chrisley and his gift for GBnME. It really got Caddy emotional and he’s seen all the videos. Donna simply wants to know which restaurant Todd was in. Just another highly-favored Second Act. This one rounds off with a clip of Reba on Oprah’s Masterclass and a few bits about the tourist destination that is Nashville, Tennessee.
What are some other songs that make you drop your drink and run to the dance floor? Your two-fist dances? Let us know at 7704646024.

“I have a special parking permit because I’m a member of the clergy.”
It’s a rootin’ tootin’ enlarging episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act.
Donna is longing for some friendly physical action. She feels like we all could use a little more platonic loving. It’s a bug that has spread like COVID and is taking a toll on the Jack household. The good thing is that as of last week, she’s vaccinated. Cadillac Jack? Not so much. He’s more concerned about the fact that easter bunny sales are up. No kidding. Donna worked at Cumberland Mall back in the day and every Spring they had a rule- if you’re late, you wear the bunny suit. Give you one guess who was late.
Kenny Chesney made the call. Donna and Cadillac Jack are huge fans of Kenney and consider themselves a member of No Shoes Nation. They fulfill their semi-music podcast designation by announcing some news from the man himself. As a pair who have participated in their fair share of Chesney parties, it’s a bit of a let down. At the end of the day, “I won’t take chances with those that I love.”
Then Donna’s hype song leads the show down memory lane. The last time she heard Earth, Wind and Fire, Cadillac Jack was officiating a wedding in Charleston. If you don’t remember, Caddy was ordained on the side of the highway. That’s not a joke- he really is available to officiate weddings and funerals. As he was quick to point out, “I do the back end as well.”
We cover shrimp tails and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. If you haven’t seen the story, fellow podcaster @JensenKarp found some little critters in his cereal. Caddy and Donna set the stage for what they’re betting will be a story all year. Cadillac’s prediction? It’s the end of General Mills.
Plus some great news for Cadillac Jack and every other heart attack survivor. Dr. Oz has a new recommendation: Viagra. “It’s the dipstick to a man’s health.” And what’s even better than the little blue pill? Donna’s Appy segment. It’s a way for folks to easily fill their time (and their pockets). Cadillac Jack is thinking of applying to be a host. Just not that kind of host. Can anyone help him with his ZipRecruiter profile?
Follow Caddy @atlcadillac or text him at 7704646024. New shows every Tuesday and Thursday of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act.
