I help business owners make more money in less time, so they can create bigger impact. It doesn't matter what it is, we all have a sense of purpose. We want to leave a legacy. We want to matter. And the best way of doing that, is to become wealthy. But the sad reality is a lot of us are stuck in 'weenie' mode. In other words, we make up excuses for why we can't become our brilliant, wealthy selves. That ends with this podcast. My name is Katie McManus. As a CPCC (Certified Professional Co-Active Coach) I know how to help people like you to reach their financial goals, and earn the life they've always dreamed of. Until quite recently, I described myself as a business strategist and money mindset coach who was focusing on helping business owners with ADHD to get more income from their business. I've been helping some of them get eleven times the value of their investment back. And then, I had an epiphany. I was being a weenie. Being a business strategist is not the limit of my gifts to the world. I'm also a political activist, a serial entrepreneur who oversees multiple six figure businesses, and I'm the founder of a non-profit with dreams of helping members of the LGBTQ+ community to find more joy from their lives in a very specific way. And all of that is being achieved by scaling my business in a way that I don't have to be in it every hour of the day, but still make enough money to work hard on making impact. Do you also want to learn how you can make more money, in less time, so that you can create impact on your community, or with projects that are important to you? Want coaching on money mindset, sales advice, and general business growth, but all from the safety and comfort of your own space? If you're wanting to listen to business strategy and money mindset advice that's specifically targeted to business owners like you who want to achieve BIG things but maybe have some challenges, then "The Weeniecast" is the podcast for YOU. I will help you understand your own potential for growing a dream business that works without you but still makes seriously life-changing amounts of money. Have you identified your ADHD entrepreneur values?

"You hire a bunch of people, you create an offer, you market it, you do all this stuff, and then you realize... holy shit, this is not what I want at all. This doesn't reflect me as a human.." - Katie McManus, Brave Business Coaching

When you're travelling at a million miles per hour in your business, it can be really easy to lose track of what's important.

Of the kinds of clients you want to work with.

In the kinds of circumstances and settings you want to work with them in.

This episode is all about getting you to slow down and give some thought to the things in life that are important to you. Your ADHD-preneur values should be central to everything you do. Let's identify them together!

Pssst! Do you hate the sound effects used in the podcast? If so, here's a version without!

At the end of the episode, Katie directs you to book in a session with her to get more help with your values.

My own three values

I can't stress enough how important it is for you to get straight on your values if you want to be an entrepreneur (particularly an ADHD-preneur) who shows up as your best self.

An optimal human.

Because - let's face it - that's frickin' important if you're gonna keep showing up to do the thing you do, every single day!

In this episode I'm going to help you get your head around the importance of figuring this out.

I'm going to share my own personal values with you for context so that you can adapt the idea with your own life and business.

I also share a way you can take the next step in getting this figured out, towards the end of the episode, so do give it a listen!

Anyway, my three values:

  • Freedom
  • Control
  • Labradoodle.

Yep, that's right.

Labradoodle.

That's an actual value of mine.

It'll all become clear if you listen.

The Fiat 500!

I drive a Fiat 500.

My mom calls it a roller skate.

I call it Tina Fey.

Yep, I know that's a lot to unpack.

Don't worry, it'll all make sense if you listen, but the point is that car has a user manual.

A 'standard operating procedure' for getting the best out of it. You'll be wanting the same if you want to get the best out of you.

And this episode is here to help!

This episode that's all about ADHD-preneur values, covers:

  • What ADHD-preneur values really are (they're not 'honesty' etc...)
  • The three values I live by!
  • Why you need values anyway
  • An option you can take for getting this really nailed down and transforming your life!

How to be kind to yourself when you miss those dopamine moments

"When we forgive ourselves, and we just add it to the list fresh, and it becomes a new task for us, we actually do give ourselves that dopamine when we get it accomplished..." - Katie McManus, Brave Business Coaching

This is the episode for ADHD entrepreneurs who don't show themselves any self compassion!

Accessibility: click to read a written-to-be-read transcript of the episode

ADHD people need a little more self compassion

In this episode, I'll be talking about self-compassion, which is often difficult for individuals with ADHD.

The reason being that throughout our lives, we've been told that we're not doing things the right way, that we're not paying attention enough, and our work isn't good enough.

All of this negative self-talk makes it hard for you to be kind to yourself as an ADHD entrepreneur.

I'm going to shares my personal experience of how my inner child is still affected by the experiences of my childhood and how easy it is to recognise it in others.

Why is self-compassion difficult for individuals with ADHD?

Growing up, we've heard negative messages that have created a harsh inner critic. This self-talk leads to us punishing ourselves when we miss self-imposed deadlines, which are often arbitrary and associated with failure.

ADHD and Overcompensation

Individuals with ADHD have to overcompensate in many ways to function in traditional systems such as schools and jobs.

This creates a higher standard that we hold ourselves to, which results in us not allowing ourselves to screw up.

However, we have never-ending compassion for other people who make mistakes.

Nobody said we aren't 'interesting', us folks with ADHD! 😂😂

The Playground Incident

If you have kids, I hope you listen to this episode, because you need to be aware of the challenges they're already facing which will potentially shape their adult struggles.

You have to hear what I witnessed this week from a local Philidelphia school teacher!

This episode that's all about ADHD self compassion, covers:

  • The episode discusses how ADHD entrepreneurs struggle with self-compassion, which is difficult for them to access.
  • People with ADHD have been told throughout their lives that they are doing it wrong, not paying attention, or not good enough, which affects their self-talk.
  • ADHD entrepreneurs tend to hold themselves to a higher standard than others, despite having never-ending compassion for others who screw up or miss deadlines.
  • The pressure to overcompensate and function within systems that do not work for them results in this need to be better, and it makes self-compassion impossible for them.

Psst!! Have you registered to participate in my "37 Weenie Challenge" yet?

Get hold of the downloads and guides as well as booking yourself into the 37 Weenie accountability club by clicking here.

Who will get the most out of this episode all about ADHD self compassion?

This episode is particularly useful for individuals with ADHD who are struggling to show themselves self-compassion.

The episode addresses the negative inner dialogue many people with ADHD have internalized, due to the harsh and critical messages they have been told throughout their lives.

The episode also looks at how people with ADHD must overcompensate in order to function in traditional systems, resulting in unrealistic self-imposed standards that are difficult to meet.

Ultimately, this episode serves to help individuals with ADHD practice self-compassion and understand that everyone makes mistakes.

Time management ADHD challenges faced by ADHD entrepreneurs

"It becomes this kind of self punishing cycle where we are just constantly reminded of how we're quote, unquote, 'broken' and not like other people. And so I just want to normalize for anyone who's listening that you're not broken, your brain just works in a different way and you're getting advice that doesn't work for your brain. Niche Down to Stand Out

As an entrepreneur with ADHD, deciding on a niche for your business can feel like you're trying to do the impossible.

You’re juggling countless interests and ideas, and the fear of missing out on potential clients can paralyze you from making any decision.

Welcome to the Weeniecast! I'm Katie McManus, a business strategist and money mindset coach, here to help you conquer those fears and take the leap into niche picking with confidence.

In this bonus episode, we tackle why weenies - AKA those too scared to make bold business decisions - need to niche down hard to succeed.

I cut through the crap and dive into the real reason behind your fear of picking a niche: the scarcity mindset.

We cover the numbers game, emphasizing that with 7.88 billion people on Earth, finding your 600 clients is more than doable.

Ever worried that niching will limit your client base? Think again.

We'll explore how niching actually makes it easier for the right clients to find and choose you. Plus, I share the difference between running a hobby and operating a business that makes serious money—hint: it involves niching down.

By the end of this bonus episode, you'll understand how to leverage your niche to become a specialist, thus allowing you to charge more and stand out in a crowded market.

We'll cover how to identify your ideal client by talking directly to them and understanding their pain points and dreams. You'll leave better equipped to create marketing strategies that resonate deeply with your audience and close sales with confidence. Ready to stop being a weenie and step into your power as an entrepreneur? Tune in and transform your approach to business.

Takeaways:

  • Niching down allows you to attract the right clients and stand out in a crowded market.
  • With 7.88 billion people on Earth, finding your 600 ideal clients is entirely feasible.
  • Being a generalist limits your marketing potential; specificity enhances your referrals and visibility.
  • Specializing in a niche enables you to charge higher rates and reduce competition.
  • Understanding your ideal client's pain points is crucial for effective marketing strategies.
  • Don't let the fear of missing out on clients paralyze your decision-making process.

Manifestation Lessons from Desperate Hernán Cortés!

Get your free worksheet download - here.

In this episode of the Weeniecast, “How Desperation Fuels Manifestation” we're talking about 'burning the ships' as a metaphor for going all in with your goals and dreams.

By looking at historical anecdotes, personal stories, and some well-known examples from pop culture, I explore how this all-or-nothing mindset can push you towards success when you’re backed into a corner.

This episode kicks off with a Sean Connery impression but don't get it twisted!

We're taking manifestation - real manifestation that is - very seriously here.

Using Hernán Cortés' extreme method of motivating his men by burning their ships, I draw parallels to how desperation can lead to powerful moments of manifestation that change your life and career trajectory.

Throughout the episode, you'll learn how to harness the potential of desperate situations to manifest what you truly desire.

I discuss the common misconception that manifestation is akin to making a wish list for the universe, and instead, I focus on the importance of intuitive actions and being open to unplanned paths.

I share my own experiences, from volunteering for redundancy to managing a yarn shop, and how these seemingly trivial or desperate decisions opened doors I never could've predicted.

You'll also hear about how iconic figures like Oprah and Elizabeth Gilbert used moments of desperation to switch gears and find profound success, illustrating that sometimes, it takes hitting rock bottom for true clarity and opportunity to emerge.

By the end of the episode, you’ll be better equipped to recognize and act upon those moments of desperation, transforming them into catalysts for manifesting your dreams.

No longer will you feel paralyzed by fear or failure; instead, you'll understand how to leverage these moments to find novel paths to success.
