No boundaries equals burnout, with Sarah Falk
08/18/22 • 21 min
In this episode I’m joined by Sarah Falk. Sarah is a therapist, anxiety coach, consultant, and author with over 30 years of personal experience in the process of healing anxiety. With 20 years of professional work, she has consolidated all of her wisdom and knowledge to help as many people as possible to heal their relationships with anxiety too.
Sarah discusses her relationship with writing and how she uses and recommends the writing process for the people she works with. She shares with us the strategies she uses to help the people who don’t consider themselves writers or who may face other barriers like perfectionism.
We also discuss setting boundaries in the workplace to help prevent burnout and we discuss some of the best ways to take an inner look at some of our behaviours in the workplace. Sarah recommends self-reflection and taking a look at some people-pleasing behaviours to determine their cause. Are these behaviours because we place our value and identity on our job and productivity, or are we trying to be liked? She discusses how to find a healthy balance.
Sarah talks about the mind, body, and spirit approach she uses when helping her clients. She explains how she shows her clients what overwhelm, anxiety, and burnout look like in a posture and teaches us another posture to counterbalance this.
Finally, Sarah shares with us her personal tips for managing a busy work and home life.

Young and Burnt Out
Burnout can happen at any age, and today’s special guest joins us to talk about burnout in the mid-twenties and having a quarter-life crisis.
Sonora Plumb is a playfulness coach and artist who helps people reconnect with their relationship with playfulness to counteract, burnout. She helps people learn to rest and not feel guilty about it, which is something that is very difficult for overachievers to accomplish.
Sonora was an overachiever who started to have issues with her physical and mental health until she got so burned out that she couldn’t function. This experience made her realize how much healing she had backlogged. Burnout made her confront deeper issues that were going on within herself.
Her experiences with burnout inspired her to start coaching others, and she shares with us some of her concepts and philosophies. One of the most exciting is the concept of the “and” possibility: instead of choosing either or, you can choose ‘and’ You can have multiple things at once without choosing between your health and your success.
Sonora offers a fresh perspective, both as someone who has experienced burnout and as a coach helping others work through the same experiences that she has had. She describes her personal journey
