Raised in a chaotic family household, Lauren had her first breakthrough thanks to a neighbor and her husband, who showed her in a healthy and non-judgmental way there was a different way of living. Slowly, her neighbors' idea planted in her head shaped into a conscious search for a better life, valuing education, and regular practice of yoga.
Lauren Toolin is a teacher, mentor, and mother. She teaches yoga classes infused with body-mind alignment and integration. Lauren is a leading teacher of ParaYoga and is one of the first to be certified as a senior teacher by ParaYoga's founder, Rod Stryker. In this episode, Lauren takes us through the three major breakthroughs she had in her life. We talked about her first contact with yoga and how it helped her overcome a traumatic childhood. Annine had a special bond with her father; they were so connected that they were even business partners. After he passed, Annine decided to say yes to everything, and the result was quite impressive; she experienced extraordinary growth. But at some point, it started to feel overwhelming for her. One of her breakthrough moments happened after she started saying no and honing in on the areas of extreme passion.
Today I'm joined by Annine Massaro, she is a former corporate lawyer, an artist, a poet, a coach, and a mentor. One of Annine's passions is to coach writers struggling with their writing, helping them to overcome writer's block and creating tools to help them get the creative juices flowing. In this episode, we talked about Annine's several breakthroughs in her life and how they changed her life's perspective. We also talked about following our passions and questioning our WHY. She shared some brilliant insights on the world's current situation and what she believes we learned from the pandemic. Dawn suffered from health issues since she was 3 years old. She suffered grand mal seizures, and she has been under major medication since she was 12. Although she believes in Western medicine, she also felt that modern medicine can only take us so far in our healing journey. Curiosity about alternative treatments was constantly popping up, and some words kept teasing her interest: hypnotherapy, naturopathy, breathwork, and more. So finally, she decided to dive deep into this new knowledge, start her healing journey, become a certified hypnotherapist, and learn about EFT tapping.
Dawn Hassmann is a Certified Hypnotherapist and an Advanced EFT (Meridan Tapping) Practitioner. She graduated with Honors from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute (HMI) in Los Angeles, and she works mainly with avocational & vocational self-improvement. Dawn is a specialist in Advanced Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT tapping), Insomnia, Autoimmune Diseases, Inner Child, Pain Management, Stress Reduction for Chronic conditions, and Cancer.
In this episode, we talked about Dawn's relationship with hypnotherapy, EFT tapping, and the rest of the alternative treatments that heavily improved her health. She shared how confusing it was for her growing up as an empath without knowing much about it, how massive it was for her health, and how she managed to turn it into a tool to help others. We also talked about hypnosis, tapping, traditional medicine, and much more.
Some Questions I Ask:
- What is your breakthrough? I know you have been working with the EFT tapping, and you teach courses on that (1:09)

Leading Our Own Rescue with Nancy Demers
Breakthrough
06/08/21 • 33 min
Usually, a breakthrough in our lives is the consequence of a massive breakdown; our self-preservation instinct kicks in and helps us keep going. In Nancy's case, a severe breakdown caused by job-related stress, followed by her father's death, led to three consecutive breakthroughs.
Today, I'm joined by Nancy Demers; she is a Nurse Navigator at New York-Presbyterian Medical Group from Queens and a Senior Leader at Tony Robbins' Robbins Research International. Nancy is a BLS Instructor at HeartStart Training and a Group Exercise Instructor at Zumba.
In this episode, we talked about Nancy's first breakthrough at work, how the stress at work was stealing from her time to grieve her father's death, and how overcoming that led to a second breakthrough. We talked about Nancy's work during the pandemic and her role as a nurse navigator. Nancy shared her experiences working in a toxic work environment and what she learned by rescuing herself. We also talked about her third breakthrough and how healthy it can be to pursue happiness and fulfillment in life.
Some Questions I Ask:
- Have you had any breakthroughs that changed the way you live or changed your health? (1:38)
- You transitioned from Crew Member to Senior Leader in Robbins Research International. Could you talk a bit about that? (17:30)
- You are back in the Breast Cancer Center, and you said your role is hybrid? (24:59)
In This Episode, You Will Learn:
- Nancy's first breakthrough at work (3:08)
- From chaos to a nurse navigator. Nancy's transition into a job created for her (5:11)
- Nancy's second breakthrough. After toxicity was gone, she realized the reason why she didn't grief her father (8:34)
- Nancy's experiences in the front line during COVID in 2020 (11:39)
- You get what you tolerate. Nancy's learnings at work (27:13)

One of the things Sarah Tugender always knew was that she didn't want to be put in a box, and that's why she chose entrepreneurship. Still, she realized that people would still put her in a box when she decided to be an influencer to make a stream of revenue from everything she was selling. Therefore, she thought, to change our circumstances, we must change the people around us, our atmosphere. But we can't (and perhaps we shouldn't) change people; the solution then might be to swap them out for new people.
Sarah's breakthrough is that the transformation must start with her before it does with anything else; that was one of the hardest lessons she learned: it must be in her first.
Today's guest is Sarah Tugender; she is a Trainer, Speaker, Internet Marketer, Entrepreneur, Wife, and Mother of 3 kids. She holds a BS in Mass Communication and Public Relations from Boston University. Sarah was born when her father was a first-year medical student, and she grew up in hospitals and healthcare practices, playing with her dolls in the break room of the Sinai Hospital. For 15 years, Sarah combined her passion for healthcare and communications and marketing to create dozens of systems and processes designed to free time in practitioners' schedules and avoid burnout.
In this episode, we talked about Sarah's breakthrough, how she came to it, her relationship with her father, and how was the experience of growing up playing in hospitals. Sarah kindly shared her vision on balance in life, instinct, and staying in a visionary role. We also talked about how she manages to succeed in her career and be present for her three kids and husband. We talked about her rituals and the learnings she took from her job to her personal life.
Some Questions I Ask:
- And what breakthroughs did you have along the way? (2:13)
- How did you get started with the nutraMetrix business? (12:10)
- How are you managing the time you spend working and the time you dedicate to your family? (19:11)
- Do you have a practice or a ritual that you do in the morning or in the evening? (21:37)
In This Episode, You Will Learn:
- Why is it important to trust our guts on breakthroughs (4:42)
- What happens to us at a young age has an effect on our lives (12:17)
- Prevention is hard to sell (15:39)
- The importance of scheduling priorities rather than prioritizing the schedule (19:19)
