I have a very interesting chat in today's episode with Hala Sabbah who is the founder of Healthy Feminist, a social business which works towards dismantling the patriarchy and other systems of oppression and fostering a just society where everyone receives various and equitable opportunities. Hala has extensive experience with coaching women, running healing circles and working with refugee communities in SouthWest Asia and North Africa (SWANA), additionally she ran an anti-Blackness in SWANA awareness campaign in 2020. Currently, Hala is running a DEI project with International Rescue Committee in SWANA with over 2,000 employees, where she is providing training in Arabic.
We talk about how Hala started her journey towards building her own business and the obstacles she faced. We also delve into how challenging it is to balance community work, while attaining financial stability in a social business environment and protect your own mental wellbeing.
