Hello all, we are on vacation this week, please review Bella's story, its a replay from earlier in the year. We'll be back at it next week!
One of New England's most heart wrenching homicides. Bella's mother already had two children taken by child services due to severe abuse and neglect, how did the Commonwealth conclude that she was fit to care for another baby? Bella's mother was a lifelong hard core drug addict and petty criminal, her live in boyfriend was worse, if that is even possible.
A great article on the Bond tragedy by Beverly Beckham of the Boston Globe (linked below)
This is what haunts me. That Bella Bond's horrific murder was not a single act of violence, an aberration in an up-to-then perfect, storybook life. But that this little girl suffered every day.

Conceived in a drug-induced haze in an Occupy Boston tent, she never met her father. Prosecutors say she was murdered on a mattress on a cluttered floor, allegedly by her mother's boyfriend, stuffed in a trash bag, shoved in a refrigerator, thrown into a duffel bag with a couple of weights so she wouldn't float up, then tossed into the sea.

This is what we know about Bella Bond. And what we know is sickening.

But what we don't know may be even worse.

Danny Croteau 13-This case resembles a Law and Order episode, but the horror was real

In 1972 the Croteau family had a traditionally large Catholic family, the five sons were alter boys. Father Richard Lavigne was the parish priest. Dan threatened to reveal that Lavigne was suppling him with alcohol and molesting him. Shortly thereafter, Dan was found floating in the Chicopee River in Springfield, Massachusetts. Father Lavigne was an immediate suspect, Dan's brothers admitted that Father Lavigne was also molesting them and others. State Police investigators informed the Springfield Archdiocese of this evil, they turned a blind eye and did nothing on the issues of murder and rape. In 1992 Lavigne was charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery on two boys. He received probation, more than 100 children eventually accused Lavigne of sexual abuse. The church paid out millions to the survivors of Lavigne's abuse. The Catholic Church took another decade to remove Lavigne as a priest. The case was never really cold, the police knew exactly who did this crime. Lavigne came close enough to a confession in 2021, so much so, that he was going to be arrested, however on the day of his arrest he died of covid-19 related symptoms. He cheated justice one final time.

Sean Ellis- Trial 4 on Netflix is so biased it should come with a warning label

The HBO film Trial 4, is a virtual hagiography for Sean Ellis. The HBO-Netflix documentary is so slanted in favor of Sean Ellis it is difficult to digest. In order to believe Sean Ellis is innocent, you'd have to believe that his uncle, best friend, and girlfriend were (are) lying. To our knowledge none of these witnesses, that tied Ellis directly to the brutal 1993, homicide recanted their testimony, why? Sean Ellis's co-defendant told the police Sean Ellis shot Det. Mulligan five times in the face, Sean's girlfriend testified Sean brought the guns to her house, she left her fingerprint on the weapon. Sean's Uncle Dave asked Sean where the guns were, Sean gave detailed information as to where and how the guns were hidden, that is exactly how the weapons were recovered. So The question is where is the mystery in this case? It is true that corrupt police detectives were involved in Sean Ellis's case, the remedy for that is a retrial, but claims of actual innocence? That is simply a gigantic leap in logic.
