Gonzo, Bronze, and Cara dive into this vision-packed second chapter in Nephi. We try to unpack a vision of a rod of iron that follows a path to fruit without leaning too heavily on homoerotic parallels. The opportunities for Freudian interpretations abound. Ben and Bronze admit to finally mistrusting Nephi and Cara opens the door to blaming Sariah, the mother, for Nephi's obvious character flaws.

Episode 3 with Ben

In this episode we finish Chapter 1 of the first book of Nephi. Bronze voices an angel, Ben tries to get in Nephi's head, and Gonzo is more convinced than ever that Nephi is a near Trumpian character. We watch a band of brothers try and get a brass bible/torah and ultimately Nephi kills the owner and Gonzo wonders if this first part of the story was a robbery spun as a mission from God.

Episode 5 with Zion

Gonzo, Bronze, and Zion (The Point Of Struggle) dive into Nephi Chapter 3. We really get a view into Nephi's psyche--this man loves the sound of his own voice. Nephi is writing this, likely, later in life as a sort of memoir and while it's clear he needed an editor it's an unflinching look into a king who's used to being told everything he says is brilliant. We can't imagine he's actually taken to scratching this all out on brass instead he's probably got a team of scribes dutifully taking dictation.
