Blue Murder Club - S6 Ep. 2 - David Copeland - The London Nail Bomber

S6 Ep. 2 - David Copeland - The London Nail Bomber

11/19/23 • 62 min

Blue Murder Club

Hello and welcome to episode 2 of Bloody Britain, where all of the cases are from the UK.

This week we discuss and investigate the case of 22 year old David Copeland who carried out a series of bombings in central London in April 1999. With his right-wing views he was on a one-man mission to cause fear and division in the diverse communities of London's minority population.

He successfully manufactured and detonated three bombs over three weeks, first in Brixton, South London then Brick Lane, East London and finally Soho in London's West End. At the time any of London's minority groups felt they could be next and all Londoners were on high alert, always vigilant and fearing the worst.

Lozza and Cazza delve into what happened from the view of eyewitnesses and how the perpetrator was caught.

Aaaaaaaaaand we're back baby for series 6!

If you have followed our true crime podcast up to now you will know we love a theme so this series theme is called Bloody Britain as all of our cases will be from the UK.

So we have begun the series, following on from our Blue Murder Talks with DCI Colin Sutton, with the case of Levi Bellfield.

Bellfield was a violent criminal long before he was apprehended, with a history of violence against women and men, drug dealing, extortion, the list went on and on. His is the terrifying tale of how his temper grew so out of control that he became one the UK's most vicious and prevalent serial killers.

In the episode we remember the young victims whose lives were cut tragically short by this brutal killer and hear the stories of the brave young women who survived and how through their brave recollections and testimonies, saw him brought to justice and placed behind bars where he can never hurt anyone again.
