The ultimate true crime event, CrimeCon UK is back for another fantastic year and what better way to find out all about it, than to sit down with Nancy, the woman behind this epic event. Yes, this week Caz and Loz had the pleasure of meeting Nancy and talking all things CrimeCon as well as going over our usual questions and finding out how Nancy, a self confessed Sci-Fi fan fell in love with the true crime genre, so now it's not only her job but her passion. She discusses how much CrimeCon means to the true crime community and some of the amazing people she has met along the way, as well as her interest with the Golden State Killer case (this case is very closely intertwined with CrimeCon U.S) and she tells us about the highly unusual case of the Swedish Twins. Curious? All will be revealed.

S4 Ep 1. The Columbine Massacre - AHS Murder House
Blue Murder Club
03/05/23 • 78 min
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand we're back!! Missed us much? Well, rest assured we have missed you lovely people and have one heck of a series ready for you. This series we have taken inspiration from the series, American Horror Story. Every week we have taken a case that inspired a series of AHS and for our opening episode this week we have covered the case of The Columbine High School Massacre.
In April 1999, two of the school's students, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris carried out a deadly assault on the teachers and their fellow classmates which has since gone down in history as one of America's most significant mass shootings, and the word 'Columbine' has even become a byword for mass school shootings.
Loz and Caz attempt to unravel what could have triggered such a hideously violent act from two average teenagers, and take a look at the aftermath, the legacy of copycats and the devastating effect on the community.

S6 Ep. 8 Raoul Moat - Britain's Biggest Manhunt
Blue Murder Club
02/18/24 • 59 min
This week's episode is the case of one of the biggest and public manhunts in modern British history, the hunt for Raoul Moat.
When Raoul Moat was released from Durham prison in July 2010 little did the authorities know what hell would be unleashed for the local community. For Moat had a plan, a terrible plan to exact revenge on his ex-girlfriend, her new partner and the Northumbria police force.
Two days after his release he stalked and shot Samantha, the mother of his daughter, almost killing her and killing Samantha's partner, Chris Brown.
He then went on to declare war on the police and shot traffic officer, PC David Rathband in the face.
Moat fled to the picturesque town of Rothbury, 30 miles north of Newcastle, nestled in the Northumberland national park.
What followed then was nothing short of real-time updates as the worlds media descended on the small town, providing minute-by-minute news coverage of the biggest manhunt in recent British history.
After some days of being on the run, Moat was finally cornered and as the eyes of the world turned to watch the conclusion, there could only ever be one fatal outcome...

S6 Ep. 6 - The White House Farm Murders
Blue Murder Club
01/21/24 • 64 min
This week's episode is all about the case of the murders of the Bamber family at their home, White House Farm.
It was the 1980's the time of the hedonistic Yuppy, where wealth was flashed and 'greed was good'. The adoptive son of the respectable Neville and June Bamber, Jeremy, was surely the quintessential city boy, rich, good looking, popular and charismatic. His sister, Sheila was a beautiful model, and mother of twin boys and was also part of the London party scene.
Life appeared good for the Bamber family, at least on the surface, however underneath it all there lied mental illness, conflict and jealousy.
One fateful August evening Jeremy received a frantic phone call from his father, begging for help as Sheila had gone mad with a shotgun at the farmhouse. When the police finally made their way inside it was a bloodbath, every single member of the family had been shot dead, including Sheila's twin sons and then it appeared that in a final act of desperation, Sheila had turned the gun on herself. The police quickly came to the conclusion of a murder - suicide, the tragic result of her psychological difficulties.
Not long after the funeral, suspicions surrounding Jeremy grew until eventually he would be charged and convicted of the murders at the farmhouse. He remains in jail until this day and still protests his innocence, claiming to be a victim of injustice.
Caz and Loz investigate this most complex case and ask, what do you think happened at White House Farm?

So here we are listeners, at the end of this series, 4, and true to American Horror Story Season 10, we have made a double feature for you!
First we cover the case of Tony Costa, the Cape Cod Vampire, who in the 1960's committed a string of abductions and murders of young women. This was an idyllic time of peace and love and Cape Cod was a haven for free spirited young people to come and meet like-minded people, get high and have fun. Sadly some of these youngsters went to Tony's 'weed garden' and were never seen again. Once he was caught and the bodies were discovered, it was apparent just how depraved this killer was and when teeth marks were found he was forever to be known as the Cape Cod Vampire.
For the second part of our double feature we have covered the case of Betty and Barney Hill, who, if they are to be believed, were abducted by aliens and made their fortune selling their story and even having a film made about their experience - even Loz finds this one hard to believe!
We hope you have enjoyed this series and we will miss you all desperately until we're back with Series 5, so until then it is farewell and lots of love from L & C.

Blue Murder Club
09/09/23 • 47 min
Hi, welcome back to our in-between series of Blue Murder Talks and this week we were lucky enough to sit down and pick the brains of London policeman, Leon McLeod.
This is a brilliant episode where we get the chance to discuss crime and criminality, law and order with one of the brave people who make up our police force.
Leon discusses how he became a cop and a bit of what it's like to be in the front line, day in, day out and believe us, it is a fascinating listen.
We hope you enjoy our spin-off episodes and if you do please tell your friends, family, acquaintances, people on the train, mums on the school run...etc you get our drift love C&L

S6 Ep. 2 - David Copeland - The London Nail Bomber
Blue Murder Club
11/19/23 • 62 min
Hello and welcome to episode 2 of Bloody Britain, where all of the cases are from the UK.
This week we discuss and investigate the case of 22 year old David Copeland who carried out a series of bombings in central London in April 1999. With his right-wing views he was on a one-man mission to cause fear and division in the diverse communities of London's minority population.
He successfully manufactured and detonated three bombs over three weeks, first in Brixton, South London then Brick Lane, East London and finally Soho in London's West End. At the time any of London's minority groups felt they could be next and all Londoners were on high alert, always vigilant and fearing the worst.
Lozza and Cazza delve into what happened from the view of eyewitnesses and how the perpetrator was caught.

S5 Ep. 8 - Kim Jong-un - The Man, The Myth, The Killer
Blue Murder Club
07/29/23 • 81 min
Hey hey you lovely bunch of true crime enthusiasts and welcome to this week's episode where we travel back to Asia, North Korea to be precise and bring you the ongoing dynasty of the Kim family.
Kim Jong-un, the current dictator of North Korea is infamous globally for his eccentric ways, as well as his nuclear arms programme.
Caz and Loz cover how it is to live in the most isolated and secretive country in the world. Spoiler it isn't much fun and you constantly run the risk of committing a crime, for example, having the wrong haircut and being sent to a forced labour camp or even executed.
We also cover how the Kim dynasty came to be in place, how the country was torn in two at the end of the second world war, tearing families apart, and how grandfather Kim was portrayed as the saviour of the North Korean people and the self appointed, Supreme Leader.
Since coming to power at the age of 28, Kim Jong-un has barely been out of the news. Although there is never enough solid proof, him and his regime have been hugely successful in espionage, cyber crime, human trafficking, forgery, you name it, and the money keeps pouring in to the Kim family coffers. More than enough for North Korea to fund a nuclear bomb programme that has ultimately made the "little rocket man" unstoppable.
