Blood and Ashes: A Wheel of Time Spoilercast

Man, Lord of Chaos just keeps throwing punches.
We start off with arather innocuous chapter following Nynaeve through Salidar as she picks up bits of information from Logain, Siuan, Theodrin, Lelaine and even Moghedien.
We check in Pedron Niall and his spy master(s) as well as Morgase.
And then we switch to Rand who runs into some familiar faces! Some of those faces are a welcome sight, others, not so much. Things go down and they have repercussions for the rest of the story. Huge moment.
And lastly, Rand checks in with Taim and his initiates and gives Taim permission to start even more agressive recruitment. Things are really hotting up at the farm!

One more time, from the top! Join us as we embark on the journey that is book 9, Winter's Heart.
In the prologue we check in with Seaine and Pevara as they hunt the Black ajah in the White Tower.
We jump over to Elayne who is dealing with the current state of affairs in Andor, including the Black Tower, as well as partaking in a sacred Aiel ceremony.
Toveine is coming to grips with what has happened to the captured sisters and the political undercurrents in the Black Tower.
And finally Rand is jumping around, laying false trails for anyone that might be hunting him, and he explains to Min exactly what he intends to do next. It's a doozy!

It's that time again! A book finale! And boy, what a finale it is. After the wild events of our previous episode, there is plenty more to chew on here.
Elayne has to deal with new developments in the Kin/Aes Sedai relationship, and finally arrives in Caemlyn to begin her claim in earnest.
We bid farewell to Jaichim Carridin, but before you gett too excited, he's replaced by arguably an even more hateful character in Daved Hanlon.
In Cairhien the Aes Sedai kidnappers under Wise ONes control swear fealty to Rand, and soon after his rooms in are exploded. He goes haring off to find the attackers, spooking the Dashiva, Gedwyn and Rochaid who seem to be the perpetrators. Morr is left to defend Min, but he suffers a sad fate.
Perrin finally meets up with Masema, but while he's away Faile and friends are captured by Shaido. We all know where this is going!
We also discuss Book 8 as a whole and whether it should be counted among "The Slog" or not. Spoiler: it shouldn't!

In this episode we focus in on Egwene as she tries deperately to carve out her place within the Aes Sedai while maintaining her link to the Wise Ones and Rand.
First she deals with Faolain and Theodrin with great results! But she is quickly reminded of the work she has cut out for her when she's cornered by Romanda and Lelaine. To the point that she just walks away from them in order to follow up with a request from Gareth Bryne and simultaneously question Myrelle over some suspicious behavior observed by Siuan.
Gareth comes through with a veiled pledge of alliegance to Egwene, personally, instead of the Hall. A hug win for our girl.
And finally, Myrelle is forced to lead Egwene and Siuan to the secret camp where she had been "rehabilitating" Lan. Egwene puts a quick stop to this and sends Lan on a mission to Ebou Dar.

And we're back! It's a biggie folks. We're rested and champing at the bit for a good ol' speculation. In this episode we're treated to a lot of varied story points and huge meetings.
Egwene meets two of her competition for Rand's affection at the White Tower, Mat and Perrin meet their first real Aielman and Bayle Domon meets his future wife! Who happens to be Seanchan. (BOO)
Rand, Loial and Hurin get sucked into The Game of Houses, Selene appears to stir the pot and lo and behold, Thom Merrilin lives! We have a good dose of prophecy and history lessons in there as well.
We also start seeing the effects of Jaichim "Bors" Carridin's machinations on the Almoth Plain and the pieces are moving in place for a final showdown in Falme.
It's all over the place! In a rad way.
