Today, my guest is friend and brother, Aron Weingard – a leader who strives to leave every organization in a better position than when he joined it.

Aron has helped build Experience Camps for Grieving Children since its inception in 2009. He has served as a volunteer counselor for 13 years, developed the camper leadership program with Wiley Cerilli, and helped found the Georgia Program in 2017. Today, he is the Fundraising Chair of the Board of Directors and responsible for helping to raise nearly $3.5 million annually.

Aron began his career in Atlanta as a management consultant at KPMG where he focused on helping clients with matters of employee retention, merger integration and customer strategy. He left KPMG to be in a career where he can better impact the lives of people – and joined his mother, brother and their broader team at Weingard Wealth Management of Raymond James. He focuses on wealth planning for individuals and families and specializes in guiding business owners with succession planning and exit strategies all across the United States.

Most recently, he was recognized by Invest in Others for his Experience Camps leadership as one of 72 Wealth Advisors out of over 300,000 who are making the biggest impact in the nonprofit industry.

In this episode, we dive into:

  • The founding story of Experience Camps
  • His first Summer in building the organization
  • Magical moments at camp
  • The impact he has had as a volunteer
  • The camper leadership program and how it is helping kids beyond camp
  • And much more...

Bits of Gold - BOG #21 RECAP // Bits of Gold w/ David Lekach
play

07/01/20 • 12 min

In this recap episode, I share my biggest takeaways and Bits of Gold from the episode with David Lekach from Dream Water.

  1. Run your own race. Focus on you. Don’t worry about the competition or others.
  2. Find a mentor: Find someone to help guide you.
  3. You need to be actively communicating to people in your life. Employees, team members, family, friends, so it minimizes discord and frustration. Communication is key. Entrepreneurship is lonely.
  4. There is no such thing as an overnight success. He is a 9+ year success. Things take time. It can not be about the money. If it’s just about the money, more often than not, you will eventually lose. It’s not a straight up journey.
  5. Mindset is important. He is viewing Corona as an opportunity for what can we create during this time?
  6. Cash flow vs cash. Positive cash flow is very important. Keep your fixed overhead low so you can survive and get through tough times. That’s important!

Bits of Gold - BOG #19 RECAP // Bits of Gold w/ Brandon Steiner
play

06/24/20 • 13 min

In this recap episode, I share the Bits of Gold from Brandon Steiner.

  1. How to be a winner: In order to win, you only need to win 51% of the time. You can lose 49% of the time and still be a winner. To win, you just need one yes.
  2. You need to try things: Trying things creates confidence, opportunity, and valuable lessons. With each experience, you will have more data and knowledge to know what you like and don't like, what you are good at and not good at, etc... After every experience, you are more prepared for future opportunity.
  3. Don't be afraid to do things that are not sexy: Get your hand's dirty! Don't be afraid to do something just because you are scared how it may or may not look on your resume. (In my opinion, you should focus on building your life, not your resume.) Learn how to make a buck. Each experience will lead you some place and in that process, you will learn something new.
  4. Focus on the most important things: Instead of focusing on the bad customers, focus on the good customers. Focus on your important customers and your best customers. Don't get distracted focusing on the bad. It's so easy to do that. Focus on the good.
  5. Money Grab: It's okay if you have an opportunity to reach out and grab the money. Sacrificing short term for the long-term gain. However, if the grind becomes a 5, 10, and 25 year grind of non-stop work, re-evaluate what is important to you. You need to focus on long-term balance. But a short term imbalance of 1-2 years is okay.

P.S. Baseball cards are no longer the asset I thought I once had.
