Dr. Rich Blundell Returns! Science, Spirituality, Religion and Falling Back in Love with the Earth
03/21/23 • 58 min
Back by popular demand, I am so stoked to have Dr. Rich Blundell back on the show for a 3rd time! In this clip, he’s talking about how when i asked ChatGPT how to make the world a better place, it got it all wrong. It’s not about doing “things,” but changing our thoughts and perspective. “We need to change the way in which we identify the lands that we live on, the air that we breathe, the planet that we inhabit. Then those other problems not only solve themselves, they become non-problems. All we have to do is fall back in love with the earth that has loved us."
We sat down for a chat about ecological intelligence, the cosmos, our connectivity to nature, the dynamic between science and spirituality & religion (you might be surprised at what he has to say, being a scientist.), non-duality, climate change (you might be surprised by his thoughts on this as well), we talked about Oika, which is a word he coined and what that means and the power of artists to help change the world.
Dr. Rich Blundell is an ecologist working at the interface of art, science, nature and culture. His research examines how transformation happens across the scales of person, place and planet. As a cultural communicator, Rich tells a scientific story of the universe that includes art and human creativity as natural phenomena. Dr. Blundell’s research and work has received numerous grants and awards including, The National Science Foundation grant for Science Out There, the Michael Brinkman Award, and The Deep Time Values video award for An Earth Story. Blundell’s creative video work has appeared on PBS, National Geographic and his art has hung in numerous galleries.

Why Truth and Accountability Matter in a Better World
In this solo episode, titled “Why Truth and Accountability Matter in a Better World,” I share my thoughts on the declining value of truth in our society and how imperative it is that, if we are truly trying to build a better world, we need to reclaim truth and accountability as necessary pillars supporting our foundation.
As Winston Churchill said, "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.”
Join me on this episode as I talk about the mind-numbing lies (and lack of accountability) running rampant around the world, as I desperately search for my pants and attempt to figure out how to pull them up.
But in the end, the truth always prevails! Or does it?
