Shai Rambod is an entrepreneurial leader with experience that spans across a variety of sectors. Most of his career has been spent founding, managing, and operating B2B and B2C companies in the financial, health & beauty, wellness, and natural foods categories with a proven track record of success driving profitable growth. Currently, Shai is co-founder & Chief Executive Officer of MyChon, a B2C health & wellness company that developed a patented novel approach to measure mitochondrial function and is focused on empowering human healthspan potential.
Prior to MyChon, Shai was an integral part of growing Cedra Capital Corporation, a B2B finance company specializing in small-ticket and middle-market equipment finance and fixed asset based lending.
Shai’s Board experience includes currently serving on the board of Community Healing Gardens and previously serving on the board of Young Leadership Division of The Jewish Federation.
Shai is an adventurer, traveler, and an avid motorcycle and racing enthusiast. He is also a speaker and mentor at the Merage Institute.
Orian Shirihai, MD, PhD is the director of the Metabolism Unified Research Theme at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Professor of Medicine (Endocrinology) and Molecular & Medical Pharmacology at UCLA. Prior to joining UCLA, Dr. Shirihai was with The Department of Medicine at Boston University Medical Center (BUMC) and Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Shirihai joined BUMC from the Department of Pharmacology at Tufts University, Boston where he was an Adjunct Associate professor. Dr. Shirihai did postdoctoral work with Prof. Stuart Orkin at Harvard University. At BUMC, his lab played a pivotal role in the development of cutting edge technology for high throughput respirometry in collaboration with Seahorse Bioscience (acquired by Agilent Technologies). Dr. Shirihai is a member and founder of the Mitochondria ARC (Advancing Research through Collaborations) which is part of the ARC system of BUMC department of medicine. Dr. Shirihai earned his MD and PhD degrees from the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.In this episode we throw it way back to science class and geek out on all things mitochondria and mitochondrial health.

Dr. Carrie Jones is an internationally recognized speaker, consultant, and educator on the topic of women’s health and hormones. She graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), School of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon where she also completed her 2-year residency in women’s health, hormones and endocrinology. Later she graduated from Grand Canyon University’s Master of Public Health program with a goal of doing more international education. She was adjunct faculty for many years teaching gynecology and advanced endocrinology/fertility and has been the Medical Director for 2 large integrative clinics in Portland. She is the Medical Director for Precision Analytical, Inc, creators of the DUTCH hormone test.
In this episode Dr. Jones and I talk about being “hormonally challenged” and how women can better understand the complexity of their hormonal health in a more simplified way.
