Beginning Teacher Talk: A Podcast for New Elementary Teachers

When I was a beginning teacher, I had a teacher assistant and one of the biggest mistakes I made was not being super clear about what her role would be in my classroom. The thought of telling her what to do was super uncomfortable for me, and that made our relationship difficult. Over the years, I learned all kinds of creative and helpful ways to utilize a TA. Now I'm sharing those ideas with you so that you can see what a great gift it can be to have a TA in your classroom!

How to Handle Critical Observation Feedback

Formal observations are one of the things about teaching that really scares us as new teachers. They can send you right into panic mode, even if you have a really supportive administration. However, there is a way you can reframe how you view observation feedback that I want to share with you today. It will help you to feel more empowered and encourage you to take the next steps towards becoming the teacher that you’ve always dreamed of being.
