Becoming Lit AF - Sona Bhatnagar | Wisdom from a Near Death Experience and Grief Healed

Sona Bhatnagar | Wisdom from a Near Death Experience and Grief Healed

03/24/22 • 92 min

Becoming Lit AF

Sona Bhatnagar M.D. tragically lost her husband, Mohit, and son, Nachu, within ten months of each other. After navigating immense loss, negotiating with betrayal, and learning to walk the path of grief she founded griefhealed.com and the Grief Healed Meetup. She has made it her mission to help others find their way through all of the many losses we experience as humans, and find a way to forgive, heal, and move forward.
A few years after the immense losses of Sona's son and husband, she faced her own near-death experience (NDE). Sona shares about her NDE, greeting her son in spirit, and the comfort it provided.
Dr. Bhatnagar has been featured twice on Arianna Huffington’s website Thrive Global and Cleveland radio personality Philip Keller’s podcast Blind Faith Live! Real People. Real Miracles, where she discussed triumphing over grief on the episode “Life and Death."
She received her medical degree from the University of Florida and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Maryland. She has been a practicing physician for over 30 years and a Grief Recovery Specialist. She supplements her standard medical training with integrative medicine, including hypnotherapy, Reiki, Alpha, and Theta healing, Johrei and Pranic Healing, Matrix and Reconnective Healing, and Emotional Freedom Techniques.

Sona’s manuscript had been very well-received by her focus group of fellow physicians, internationally known spiritual healers, and members of her grief support group––all of whom found tremendous value in its content and encouraged her to seek publication to reach a wide audience. Additionally, during her son’s illness she received support from U2’s Bono and The Edge, as well as from Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert.

Alyson McAdams | Reclaiming our power and ending the war with our bodies

Alyson McAdams RD and I (let's be honest, I have a lot to say here), talk about our culture and the grip body and health obsession has (or has had) on so many of us. Alyson is a non-diet, weight-inclusive dietitian specializing in disordered eating, intuitive eating, and family nutrition. Alyson works to help others develop a strong, flexible, and positive relationship with food. She is passionate about helping you discover peace with food and your body so you can show up fully for what matters to you in life. Formally, Alyson is a registered dietician, her focus is so much bigger than food. And as many of us have come to understand, it is never really about the food.
Alyson is dedicated to having an honest look at the culture of dieting, fitness, media, and the unworthiness that is born of it. She wants to help other humans free themselves from these chronic concerns and help heal and ultimately liberate us from this toxic energy suck (my words, not hers).
This is a very personal conversation for me too as it is a space I had struggled with for a long, long time and ultimately a journey that has offered me so much wisdom and insight having waded through it.
Alyson is a social justice advocate, she promotes the Health at Every Size (HAES) initiative. .
