Be A Wolf - Sessions

Be A Wolf - Sessions

Hosted By Nayzel Sushil

We teach Creatives, Entrepreneurs & Change-makers to ignite community transformations.
Success can come from anyone: Our mission is simple. Empower the future leaders of our community. There are individuals who grew up thinking that they won't amount much because of where they came from and their background. We think differently.
There is strength in our past, and we celebrate the unique traits that each person brings. We empower all the talent in our community to see their true potential, dream higher, and achieve success whatever that looks like to them.
As Dr. Seuss puts it, “You can’t judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree” but give that fish an ocean and watch it swim past the horizon. The Why: We are only as strong as the weakest member of our community.
We believe in empowering the youth with education, resources, advocacy, and love so that they can lift our community up and make it stronger. We win when they win. We are here to redefine communities, and nothing is going to stop us.

I have been feeling a bit reflective this week as I turn 29 today. So decided to take some time out and write down some of the greatest lessons.. I've learnt in the last 29 years.
I’ve had the opportunity to travel and interview some amazing people over the years. As the years go by... I'm still a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. And for that “perseverance” is truly valued regardless of the outcome.
The fact is that as the sun goes up everyday, I’m grateful to be alive, at the end of day the realisation that sometimes it’s better to have a short life with the things you like doing rather then a long life spent in a miserable way as Alan watts would say - Here are 29 lessons i've learnt over 29 years on this planet.
29 Lessons, in 29 years.

    1. Love always wins, love as much as you possibly can every single day.
    2. Your relationships, circles and friends are the most important factor of wellbeing - get it this.
    3. Do whatever you want to do, but stay patient. Work 10 decades.
    4. Don’t ever make someone feel insignificant or inadequate
    5. Always write back, or call back, or text back - Check in on your mates.
    6. Give back when you can & have the opportunity - Giving someone your time is the most important.
    7. Be present (still failing at this lol) Love the process. Process the love
    8. Stay healthy, both in body and in spirit. We need to realise there is connection with lifestyle and outcome.
    9. Read everything, Read what you are not interested about.
    10. Find something you are passionate about. If you can’t do what you want. Do what you can.
    11. If it feels morally wrong, it is.
    12. Listen more, speak less.
    13. Ask more questions
    14. Take the risk or lose the chance.
    15. Take notes, write or Journal. Will help you remember who you are on the days you feel like giving up
    16. Do not criticise yourself for things you did in the past
    17. Be honest, don’t lie and stay true to your intentions. (Your ego will challenge you in this)
    18. Put yourself out there, even when you’re scared -If you really wanna taste life, swim into the unknown
    19. Let go of people who aren't ready to love you yet! This is the hardest thing you'll have to do in your life and it will also be the most important thing: stop giving your love to those who aren't ready to love you yet.
    20. The greatest gift you get to give the world is to be yourself fully.
    21. Have the courage to be disliked.
    22. Forgive quickly
    23. If you only have “love” for you own race, then you only leaving space to ”discriminate
    24. It’s You vs You.
    25. Happiness is earned, not deserved
    26. You never truly fail, unless you give up!
    27. Money is a good thing, it gives you options.
    28. Don’t try to change the world just change yourself.
    29. Just because you came up with nothing, doesn’t mean you can’t be something.

Keep going kid.

In this episode, we explore the idea of performing without external motivations, focusing on intrinsic rewards and problem-solving for positive impact. I shares my personal story of self-discovery, overcoming uncertainty, and embracing intrinsic motivation.
I highlight the transformative power of problem-solving and making a positive impact on others. The journey involves overcoming obstacles and inspiring others to embark on their own quests of authenticity.
Tips:

  1. Sustainable Motivation: Relying solely on external rewards like money, fame, or recognition can lead to a shallow and short-lived motivation. Intrinsic motivation, on the other hand, arises from within, providing a more sustainable and enduring drive to pursue our passions and achieve our goals.
  2. Increased Creativity and Innovation: When we focus on intrinsic motivation, we become more creative and innovative in our approach to problem-solving. Freed from the constraints of external rewards, we can think outside the box and explore unconventional solutions.
  3. Greater Resilience: External incentives can fluctuate or even disappear over time, leading to decreased motivation and discouragement. Intrinsic motivation, however, helps build resilience, as we are driven by our own interests and values rather than depending on external factors.
  4. Enhanced Personal Growth: Pursuing activities without external incentives allows us to experience personal growth and self-discovery. We learn more about our strengths, weaknesses, and true interests, leading to a deeper understanding of ourselves.
  5. Increased Focus on the Process: External incentives can often shift our focus to the end result, overshadowing the joy of the process itself. By learning to perform without incentives, we can fully immerse ourselves in the present moment and find fulfillment in the journey.
  6. Autonomy and Independence: Intrinsic motivation grants us a sense of autonomy and independence. We become less reliant on external approval and more self-directed in our pursuits, enabling us to make decisions aligned with our values.
  7. Positive Impact on Well-Being: Engaging in activities without external incentives has been linked to higher levels of well-being and satisfaction. When we do things for the sheer enjoyment and fulfillment they bring, we experience a deeper sense of contentment and happiness.
  8. Fostering a Growth Mindset: Embracing intrinsic motivation encourages a growth mindset, where we see challenges as opportunities for learning and improvement. This mindset allows us to take on new challenges with enthusiasm and adaptability.
  9. Building Meaningful Connections: When we pursue our passions without the pressure of external rewards, we tend to attract like-minded individuals who share our values and interests. This can lead to building meaningful connections and a supportive community.
  10. Contributing to the Greater Good: Intrinsic motivation often aligns with a desire to make a positive impact on the world. By learning to perform without incentives, we are more likely to engage in activities that benefit others and society as a whole.

In this session we explore the concept of inner beauty through the captivating analogy of butterflies. Just like butterflies, who can't see their own wings, we often fail to recognize our own beauty and unique qualities.
I encourages listeners to shift their perspective, embrace their inner beauty, and acknowledge the positive impact they have on others. By accepting and celebrating our true selves, we unlock our full potential and create a ripple effect of positivity in the world.
Tune in to discover how to cultivate self-acceptance and unleash your inner beauty upon the world. Be inspired, be kind, and be your beautiful self.
.
Butterflies can't see their wings. They can't see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can. People are like that as well.

A very honest and vulnerable conversation with South Auckland entrepreneur Skope Siaosi.
This session we discover Skope’s journey from being a teenage classroom bully, stealing phones and selling cigarettes at school with a victim mentality, to changing his environment and becoming someone that he is incredibly proud of today.
In this session we discuss how human experience and environments out of ones control can foster our self worth and self confidence in order to discover who we truly are. It's never too late to become the person you want to be.
