Autistic Women Working
Paula Jones
Are you a late-diagnosis autistic woman, and self-employed or a professional? I bet your most used phrase is "Oh, so that's why!" isn't it?
At least, that's what mine was when I was diagnosed at 46. It suddenly made everything make sense, like why I was so often passed over for promotion, or why I couldn't hold down a particular type of job, or why I was just so bloody tired by people ALL of the time.
If this sounds like you, and you want to listen to stories of autism in the workplace, learn strategies for living in a world that isn't designed for neurodivergents, and hear from guests that I'll be talking to occasionally, then you're in the right place.
I'm Paula Jones, a psychologist, life coach and hypnotherapist, and I've been spending my life on a quest to find out why I'm different. I've got all the tools to help you, and me, to get through this thing together.

Finding your work family
Autistic Women Working
07/19/22 • 15 min
Have you found your work family yet? You know, those people with whom you share a brain? For me, it's those clients who we end each session helplessly giggling, or when I was in employment, the person I could sit snuggled up to in the break room and feel completely safe. You finish each other's sentences, and you know what's going on in each other's minds, because chances are, you're both autistic, whether you know it or not.
