Welcome to Episode 56 of Autism Parenting Secrets.

In this episode, Mary Anne Tierney joins Cass and Len to discuss EMFs (electromagnetic fields).

Mary Anne is a certified Building Biologist and Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist certified by the Building Biology Institute (BBI),

Since 2011, she has been measuring, mitigating, and educating on the health effects of EMFs. With a background as a psychiatric nurse, public health educator, and recovering electro-sensitive individual.

She founded Blue Ridge EMF Solutions in 2018, providing high-quality, solution-focused assessments that focus on measurable, affordable means for joyful, low-EMF living.

This conversation focuses on this key question:

How can parents take control and create a safer environment for their child in the car?

Whether it’s a short drive or a long road trip, playing defense in the car makes sense.

While EMFs are everywhere, they are much more concentrated and harmful within the confines of a car.

But the good news is there are ways to reduce exposure while keeping things interesting and fun.

The empowering secret this week is...

But the truth is - it’s a lie.

Make Investments, Not Sacrifices.

Autism Parenting Secrets

play

05/20/21 • 16 min

Welcome to Episode 48 of the Autism Parenting Secrets.

This week, Len talks about the trap of feeling like you’re sacrificing for your child.

It was a trap he fell into and now he shares why it doesn’t help and how parents can avoid it.

It’s common and understandable.

So many things that parents value disappear soon after their child’s diagnosis. Leisure time, socializing with friends, hobbies, favorite foods, etc.

But while it may feel like loss, the reality is that the word sacrifice may not be the right term.

Just about everything parents do to support their child is done with the hope that it will improve their life or their child’s life.

And since there is some expectation of a future return - it’s really more of an investment.

And just replacing the word sacrifice with investment feels very different in the body.

It feels better.

Tune in now to learn more!

Ready. Aim. THEN Fire!

Autism Parenting Secrets

play

05/13/21 • 19 min

Welcome to Episode 47 of the Autism Parenting Secrets.

This week, Cass and Len explore the simple concept of: Ready. Aim. Fire.

It’s a universally accepted sequence that gets results.

But parents of a child often don’t follow this sequence.

Often, parents start taking action (Fire) before they’re prepared (Ready) and before they have clear targets (Aim).

The sequence matters because there are always limited resources: time, energy, and money.

And to make the most of those resources, it’s important to be effective. That means taking informed action towards a clear, specific target.

So “Fire. Ready. Aim.” doesn’t work. Neither does: “Fire. Aim, Ready.” And “Aim. Ready. Fire” falls short as well.

Tune in now to learn more!

The secret this week is Ready. Aim. THEN Fire!

You'll Discover:

  • Why we were on fire and not in a good way (1:56)
  • Why spending most of the time getting Ready works (4:57)
  • Ownership + Self Care = Better Decisions (8:14)
  • “Aim” Is Often Overlooked (10:29)
  • More time in Ready and Aim Helps (11:53)
  • Why 10 Minutes Dedicated Visualization Each Day Is So Powerful (15:00)
  • Create A Balance That’s Right For You (17:09)
