Autel Evo 2 Launched at CES 2020, Drone Pilot Fined $20,000 for Careless Flight, DJI Black Friday Deals, SQUIDS Drone, Drone Industry to Hit $100 Billion in 2020 UPDATE - Autel Robotics has released the Autel Evo 2 at CES 2020. Be sure to check out our Comprehensive Autel Evo 2 Review. Our biggest story today is about the Autel Evo 2. You heard that right. As per recent FCC filings, Autel Robotics is coming out with a new drone that will hit the markets as early as January 2020. Rumored Specs of the new Autel Evo Drone - This drone will come with 3 user-changeable gimbal modules that will give users 6K, 8K, and dual sensor capabilities. 586 gimbal – 8K camera 383 gimbal – 6K camera with one inch 20 MP sensor Dual-sensor gimbal – Infrared camera with 8K video camera According to industry insiders, the 586 gimbal on the Autel Evo 2 will be capable of taking still photos at 48 MP and recording 8K video at 25 fps. Additionally, users will be able to shoot 6K video at 30 fps or 4K at 30 or 60 fps. You will be able to shoot those sweet slo-mo videos with the 383 gimbal as you can record 4K video at 120 fps. A wide aperture range (up to f/2.8) means that this camera should have excellent low light capabilities. The dual sensor is particularly impressive as it takes infrared images at 640 x 512 or 320 x 256 and records 720p video. Other Specs and Capabiltiies: Top Speed of 44 mph Geo-fencing free 360 degree obstacle avoidance NIGHTBEAT mode for night-time photography With such awesome capabilities, the Autel Evo 2 will far outshine not only the entire Mavic range but also the higher-end, DJI Inspire range. After the Skydio 2, the Autel Evo 2 is another reminder that these new entrants in the drone market are not only catching up, but in fact, leaving the industry leader, DJI far behind. Let’s see if DJI is able to muster up a fitting response when it launches the DJI Mavic 3 in January 2020. Our next story is a particularly interesting one. This is a story about drone pilot, Reuben Burciaga who was fined a hefty $20,000 for a reckless flight which ultimately ended as his drone landed next active airstrip at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas. Reuben's initial fine of $14,000 has now ballooned to more than $20,000 due to late fees as he failed to respond back to the FAA. Time and again, we have discussed how FAA's lack of enforcement is endangering airspace safety. So, was the FAA right in slapping this huge $20,000 fine on Reuben?
