This condition is often brought on by bacteria and can result in chronic pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis, and episodes of bothersome urinary complaints including urinary urgency, leakage, and discomfort after ejaculation. There are many ways to treat chronic prostatitis, including pelvic floor physical therapy, pro- and antibiotics, stress management, and adequate nutrition--most likely a combination of two or more of these approaches will yield the best results.
