Hey, Heifers! It’s advice we’ve all received at some point or another. “It gets better.” And while I do believe things usually get better with time–situations change, people grow, opportunities come and go–I know that it’s a phrase that can feel useless when you’re going through it in the moment. I wanted to mull this over with y’all and try to find a way we can use “it gets better” that doesn’t feel like an impossible pipe dream.
As a reminder, y’all are truly the best. Thanks for coming on this journey with me <3.
Moo,
Elaine

Purposeful Couch Potato: Why You Should Be Lazy
Hey Heifers! I was featured in an article recently as one of the Top 10 Mental Health Podcasts for Women in 2022! And I feel pod-validated enough that, yes, I have published two consecutive episodes. But don’t get it twisted–I am still a firm believer in allowing laziness into your life, which is today’s topic! Maybe we don’t always need to be go, go, go.

The Problem with Trying to “Make Up” for Your Mental Health Disorder
Hey, Heifers! I tend to take on a lot. Like, a lot. And usually all at once. Upon reflection, I realized that I do this to somehow “make up” for my bipolar disorder. It’s a battle against it, in a way. “See? I can do it all still and even MORE on top of it! You can’t stop me!” Unfortunately, this means that I take on too much, I burn out, and get frustrated. Maybe it’s a form of denial, or maybe it’s me trying to prove myself to others (others who, for clarification, don’t exist). I look forward to our lovely chat today, Heifers!

Elaine
