10 to Win - Networking Part I
Amazing Entrepreneurs Club
11/02/21 • 11 min
Networking is changing. The overall concept remains the same but the way in which we do it and how we connect has changed rapidly. In my personal opinion, these changes are going to stick around for years to come. Listen in to hear my thoughts on the new landscape of networking and what you should focus on to make authentic and relevant connections.
The pandemic of 2020 and 2021 has effectively opened our eyes to new ways of connecting. Thank goodness the technology already existed for us to continue interacting virtually, but now people the world over actually know how to use that technology.
Which is why I don’t believe full on in-person networking with large conferences and massive meetups will ever be a thing. Instead, I think we’re moving to a more hybrid world of networking. Yes there will still be in-person events, but I think they’ll be smaller and include a virtual option.
That being said, you still need to employ the three “Be’s” of networking. These days your connections are even more important and you’re making them in a whole new way. You need to be intentional, be about community, and be engaging.
Networking is a long game. Be prepared to create real connections with people who are excited to support and that you want to support.
In this Episode:
[00:50] Welcome to 10 to Win! Your short business tips to help further your growth.
[02:02] Get ready to learn the best practices for networking in a hybrid world.
[02:53] What is networking?
[05:22] Learn more about the different types of networking, starting with in-person.
[08:44] Don’t forget about social networking.
[09:29] I share the three “Be’s” of networking.
[10:43] Stay tuned for Part II coming in a couple of weeks.

10 to Win - Empathy and the Holidays with Dr. Kristen Donnelly and Dr. Erin Hinson
Amazing Entrepreneurs Club
11/30/21 • 11 min
The holidays are hard. We’re tired. We’re busy. We’re dealing with close family, distant family, crazy schedules, and it’s hard to remember that we’re ALL going through it. Listen as the Good Doctors of Abbey Research, Dr. Kristen Donnelly and Dr. Erin Hinson share their thoughts on empathy and the holidays.
First off, remember that different people are different and that’s a beautiful thing. We have different beliefs, different thoughts, and different views on the world. If we didn’t then the world would be extremely boring.
While it means that relationships don’t always run smoothly, it does mean that we have bright and vibrant lives.
Also, you don’t have to show up to every conversation that comes your way. You know what topics set you off and which people rub you the wrong way. Avoid them when you can. Set your boundaries and stick to them. If others don’t respect them, then that’s your cue to leave.
Last, engage in your curiosity. It is so much easier to have empathy for others when you have a baseline of knowledge about their beliefs. Ask people questions about their holidays. Learn about their traditions. Engage in your curiosity.
The Good Doctors of Abbey Research are masters of building strong relationships and looking at the world through the lens of empathy. Listen as they share their tips and advice for strengthening your empathy muscle during the holidays.
In this Episode:
[00:51] Welcome Dr. Kristen Donnelly and Dr. Erin Hinson to 10 to Win.
[01:21] Learn the importance of having empathy during the holiday season.
[01:42] Empathy is not about emotions. It’s your mental framework for understanding.
[02:38] Holidays happen year round so this conversation is good to keep in mind for all holidays.
[03:18] Different people are different. Keep that in mind.
[04:20] How do you hang out with family members that you can’t stand?
[06:17] You do not have to show up to every conversation you’re invited to. Learn more.
[07:48] Engage in your curiosity as a practice for building your empathy during holidays.
[09:36] Get curious about other people.
[10:15] A quick wrap up for tips and tricks to engage your empathy during the holidays.

10 to Win - The Importance of a Personal Brand with Chris Vaglio
Amazing Entrepreneurs Club
12/14/21 • 11 min
Let me ask you a question. Do you have a personal brand? Many entrepreneurs get so caught up creating a brand for their business, that they forget how important it is to create a personal brand as well. Listen as Chris Vaglio of Rock It Growth Agency provides quick tips on what you need to craft your personal brand.
Why do we need a personal brand? Because people still do business with people. No matter if you are the face of your company or you work in the background, you still need to develop a brand specific to you.
The five most important reasons you need to build your own brand are to stand out, create opportunities, inspire trust, establish authority, and gain access to new audiences through strengthening your current relationships.
But how do you build your own brand?
You get really comfortable with figuring out who you are. Ask yourself these questions:
- What makes me the happiest?
- What am I interested in?
- What am I really good at?
- What makes me feel MOST like me?
Once you’ve got a handle on the answers to those questions, keep reviewing them. This is an ongoing process. Think about the things that are so inherent to you, that they literally make you who you are. Those things need to be represented in your brand.
Listen to the end to hear an amazing activity that you can do to figure out your biggest strengths!

10 to Win - Understanding and Avoiding Burnout
Amazing Entrepreneurs Club
01/11/22 • 12 min
With the holidays upon us and the start of a new year, many of us are likely feeling or facing burnout. We don’t have to succumb. The most important thing is to understand when we’ve reached burnout and figure out ways to avoid it. Listen in to learn more!
First of all, we need to know the stages of burnout. This is important because the sooner we can identify our burnout, the more likely we’ll be to avoid it all together.
Stage 1: Enthusiasm
Stage 2: Stagnation
Stage 3: Frustration
Stage 4: Apathy
Stage 5: Intervention
If you’ve reached stage five, then it’s time to bring in helping hands. It’s likely however that if you’re in a place of burnout, you’re in one of the earlier stages.
So what do you do when you realize you’ve started creeping toward true burnout? Here are my tips for avoiding burnout.
First, take a time out. Simply stepping away and re-energizing with a lost hobby or a different activity can sometimes be the ticket. Then find ways to adjust your mindset. Our mindset is usually the reason we’re in the deep, dark hole of burnout in the first place, so a realignment of sorts usually helps.
Then, find an accountability partner to help you talk through how you’re feeling and ways to avoid the pit. Next, journal. Seriously. Just writing things out will help you better understand your habits and how you got here in the first place.
Surround yourself with successful people. The people in your life heavily influence your thoughts and behavior. This isn’t to say that successful people don’t get burned out, but they’re usually much better at recognizing it.
Lastly, practice gratitude. This is a big one and it’s a practice that I am 100% behind. When you practice gratitude, you’re putting yourself in the mindframe of realizing the things, big and small, that you’ve been gifted with. This is a powerful way to switch your mindset and find healing.
How do you battle back the burnout?
In this episode:
[00:52] I’m going to share my thoughts with you on how to avoid burnout.
[02:09] The first stage is when we are at our best, which is called enthusiasm.
[02:36] The next stage is called stagnation.
[03:12] The third stage is frustration.
[04:07] Apathy is the fourth stage of burnout.
[04:28] The fifth stage is intervention.
[05:32] Now let's discuss how you can avoid burnout.
[05:51] Tip #1 Take time out.
[06:46] Tip #2 Adjust your mindset.
[07:37] Tip #3 Find an accountability partner.
[08:15] Tip #4 Journal.
[08:40] Tip #5 Surround yourself with successful people.
[09:28] The final tip is to have and express gratitude.
[11:02] I have your back and don’t want anyone to experience burnout.
[11:28] Thank you for joining me today!

10 to Win - Organization for Entrepreneurs with Melissa Stecher
Amazing Entrepreneurs Club
12/28/21 • 11 min
Do you ever feel as if you work and work and work but you never get anything done? Or if you do get things done, you don’t feel as productive as you’d like to each day? Melissa Stecher is a scheduling mastermind here to share her tips on organization for entrepreneurs.
Organization as a business owner starts with scheduling. If you don’t schedule your time then you will find yourself working endless hours and never truly feeling like you get things done. But don’t just schedule your work time.
As an entrepreneur, your time is yours. No one is dictating to you when you should work or how, so that means that ALL of your time should be accounted for. If you have a morning routine that helps you get pumped for the day, schedule it. Need to eat lunch? Schedule it!
Melissa’s most important things to schedule time for:
- Checking your emails
- Accountability time
- Marketing tasks
- Content creation and editing
- Team meetings
- Financial meetings
Also, make sure that your “must do’s” for each day are scheduled during your most energetic times. This is when you are most focused and productive meaning you’re more likely to get everything done!
