In this episode we share two short audio dramas by Nottingham based playwright and short fiction author Robbie Laughton.

Hair's Breadth
When Bob goes to the supermarket to buy extra supplies for a barbecque, he brings home more than a selction of wine and some hollandaise sauce... in fact, he forgets the hollandaise altogether.
In “Hair's Breadth” by Robbie Laughton Chris Gregory played Bob, John was played by David Monteith and Emma by Holy Gillanders. Other voices were played by members of the cast.

Dog walking can be frustrating when your dog doesn't want to follow orders and the whole world seems to be against you.

Rishi Dastidar is a fellow of “The Complete Works”, a consulting editor at The Rialto magazine, a member of Malika’s Poetry Kitchen, and chair of writer development organization Spread The Word. He is editor of The Craft: A Guide to Making Poetry Happen in the 21st Century (Nine Arches Press). Saffron Jack is his second collection.

Gregory Leadbetter is the author of two poetry collections, Maskwork (2020) and The Fetch (2016), both with Nine Arches Press, as well as the pamphlet The Body in the Well (HappenStance Press, 2007), Balanuve (Broken Sleep, 2021). His book Coleridge and the Daemonic Imagination (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011) won the University English Book Prize 2012. He has written both poetry and radio drama for the BBC. He is Professor of Poetry at Birmingham City University.

Geraldine Clarkson has performed poems at the Royal Albert Hall, as part of the Proms Extra Late series broadcast on BBC Radio 3, and also at the Poetry Society AGM. She is a former winner of the Ambit and Poetry London competitions and her first full collection Monica's

Welcome to Season 8 of the Alternative Stories and Fake Realites Podcast.
Our new season begins with Winter Spring, an audio drama by Dr Rachel Knightley.
Alice Winter, her brother Ash Winter and cousin Harris Spring are the third generation of a family property company, founded by their German immigrant grandfather who taught them the one thing the world would always need was good landlords. Three generations later, in order to survive, Ash has turned the business into an estate agency: the thing their grandfather hated most. A new tenant, only known as Poppy, moves into the top floor of what she discovers used to be their family home. Alice lives in the other flat with Kit, the imaginary friend she's had since childhood. As stories of future and past fight to be 'true', the story asks are we more than the stories we tell ourselves
