Summer Rays
05/13/19 • 34 min
It's summertime! Graduation is over, finals are finished, and now it's time to transition into this bright and beautiful time of year. In this weeks episode, we begin transitioning into summer by
cultivating our confidence. Summer is the season for confidence, just like graduation is the season for job hunting. Less clothing, more adventures, and certainly more freedom. Confidence is essentially being comfortable in your own skin. This comfort should allow you to accept yourself entirely. Confidence is crucial for creating relationships, understanding your strengths and weaknesses, and helping further you in life. Confidence in an interview is key. In this episode, we look at being confident in your interview and in your skin.
Kat's Crumble transitions us into a summer routine by realigning our goals and aspirations. By creating a list of new goals, I am setting myself up to have a successful summer. One of my goals is to read four books this summer, on top of the two books I am currently reading. I felt the desire to share the books I wish to read by the end of the summer, which is why I incorporated a summer reading list.

Toxic
Hello, Lovelies! We have all had a relationship mutually go sour, whether it's platonic or romantic. Every one of us has had a missed connection with someone we thought was our ride or die. Most of these missed connections are a result of us trying to expand and grow, but we are not given the room to. In this weeks episode, I discuss the point in which a relationship needs rest but its overlooked. Many times, it's overlooked because we are too scared to lose the individuals we are closest to. Maybe, that individual really hurt us or maybe we are just moving on to different paths. For whatever reason, change is necessary. When we resist this change, what ends up happening is the relationship starts to run on borrowed time. This turns a relationship toxic. Communications between one another is not clear, resentment grows, the betrayal (if experienced) manifests into uglier forms, and it's just shit.
Which is why I wanted to spend this episode understanding ourselves in terms of our relationship with others. I talk about how we can remove ourselves from negative relationships to give room for more positive relationships to grow. How we can recognize this change from a healthy perspective in our future relationships to prevent this from reoccurring. I talk about how to respect the others' space during times like these. To close the episode, Kat's Crumble holds us accountable for the position we played in the relationship ending. However, we do not inflict shame on ourselves for the role we played. We recognize and we release.

Living Holistically
Hey, lovelies! Living holistically is not intended to be trendy. Living holistically is making conscious choices in regards to our lifestyle. To me, moderation is everything when it comes to living holistically. I never want to feel restricted, but I also don't want to be tipping the scales when it comes to my mental or physical health. For this weeks episode, I paint the picture of holistic living. If you have listened to previous episodes, then you should have a decent foundation of what it means to live a balanced lifestyle. Connecting and respecting the mind, body, and spirit is key. For Kat's Crumble this week, I implemented a list of books that can better help you understand what it means to live holistically. If you would like direct links to these books, check out VWK's blog at the link below.
