The one and only Lolita San Miguel is with us today who in 1958 met and began her studies with Joseph Pilates. In describing the impact the Pilates method has had on her life, Lolita says, “It was the beginning of a romance,” and 60+ years later, her love is just as strong, if not more so. Lolita shares what it was like to learn from Mr. Pilates, her experiences as a professional dancer, choreographer and artistic director and her own Pilates programs: Lolita’s legacy and Pilates Master Mentor program.

In 1980, Dr. Sichel graduated from the New York Chiropractic College specializing in applied kinesiology and non-force work and opened an office on the East Side of New York City. Two years later, Dr. Sichel heard about the Pilates method and more specifically, Romana Kryzanowska and the amazing postural improvements her clients were experiencing. It was around that time period when Dr. Sichel saw a photo of himself holding his daughter at her one year birthday party. He took one look at his faulty posture and the very next day he, too, became a Romana student.
