All Things MMA on Scoreline.ie

Our autumn run of All Things MMA continues this week and there's plenty to chat about from the world of mixed martial arts. Now that the dust has settled on his 2022 stint with the PFL (Professional Fighters League), Myles Price shares his thoughts on his debut year in the promotion and the differences in approach to fighting Anthony Pettis, Jeremy Stephens and Marcin Held all inside four months, from finding his flow to recognising the signs of fighter burnout. There's also a quick look at this year's ADCC event which turned up a high result for one Irish BJJ athlete, the retirement of José Aldo and what might come next for Eddie Alvarez following his departure from ONE Championship. #UFC #PFL #MMA

UFC279 fallout, weightclasses and compensation, Queally v Henderson and more

It's been another whirlwind weekend in the world of mixed martial arts, particularly for the UFC.

After the drama of Friday's cancelled press conference and a botched weigh-in for Khamzat Chimaev, the upper end of the card was entirely rearranged, scuppering last week's conversations and predictions.

But that's the fight game, as they say.

>We wound up with a complete technical mismatch in the co-main event as Khamzat Chimaev took on Kevin Holland in a catch-weight bout despite a near 10lbs difference on weigh-in day, while the main event landed Nate Diaz a $50,000 bonus for his showing against Tony Ferguson, both fighters originally slated to face different opponents.

Listen above to the breakdown of the fall out, we'll get Myles' thoughts on what should happen regarding weight classes sooner rather than later and look ahead to the meeting of Peter Queally and Benson Henderson at Bellator 285 on Friday week.

So you want to be a fighter?

So you want to be a fighter? Or training in mixed martial arts? What does a beginner jiu-jitsu session look like? How do you prepare for getting punched in the face? Do I need to be fit to do all this?

Those are some of the questions posed to Myles Price this week as we take a look at what it takes between mind and body to embark on a martial arts journey.
