Billy West - Philip Fry, Dr. Zoidberg | Pt.2 AW63
We’re back with “the modern day Mel Blanc” – Billy West. Billy has an amazing list of credits to his name, as he is known as the original voice actor for Nickelodeon’s Doug as well as Stimpy Cat and Ren Hoek in The Ren & Stimpy Show. In addition to these roles, Billy is also best known for being the voice of several Futurama characters which include Philip Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg, and Zapp Braniggan. It is also worth noting that Billy plays King Rulo in the Netflix animated series Disenchantment.
In this continuation, Billy shares a whole array of stories that offer wonder and inspiration. We start off by talking about how he landed his roles in Futurama, where he reveals that he actually didn’t audition for Fry! Then, Billy moves on to talk about the people that inspired Dr. Zoidberg and King Rulo’s distinct and iconic voices. He also goes on to take us on a trip down memory lane, where he shares what it was like to meet Mel Blanc as well as Michael Jordan!
