Our Luvva Cover, this week, was VERY unusual! In 1970, Adriano Celentano - a successful Italian singer - wrote and recorded a song in gibberish. It almost sounded like it was in English but there is just one word in the whole lyric that makes sense. The incomparable Marianne Dissard has brought the song up to date by - well - we don't want to spoil it so you'll have to listen to the show to find out what she's done. Let's just say that Marianne is known not only for being an amazing singer but also for being eccentric - she once travelled the French Pyrenees on foot - accompanied by a donkey.

Our playlist was bulging with new music again this week - just like when Cartman ate the skin off all the KFC chicken pieces.
Our Luvva Cover, this week, is a stunning cover of an iconic song by The Cranberries. The much missed Dolores O'Riordan wrote the song as a response to the tragedy of two children's deaths in the Warrington bombing in 1993. The cover version is by Ghostly Kisses and was recorded as a tribute to Dolores O'Riordan who died, in tragic circumstances, in 2018. One of the comments below the Youtube version of this cover is "Listening to this during the the October revolution of iraq made my soul bleed a little". Give it a listen - you will be very moved by it!

Masses of #NewMusic in our playlist! An eclectic mix of original, intelligent, melodic, grown-up songs - #electronic, #rnb, #jazz, #blues and #acoustic. And mostly from artists who you have not heard of - yet! Think 'next series of Jools' - that's the kind of artists that we play.
In our Luvva Cover feature this week, Jim and Sam take Patti Smith's most famous song (originally written by Bruce Springsteen) and give it a very sensitive makeover. They are a husband and wife duo from Los Angeles making passionate, emotional music described as 'folk rock'. Give it a listen - the song is given new meaning in their version!
