MS-2-2 - Everybody Was Fe-Ral Fighting
04/15/19 • 68 min
SUMMARY
Our party has managed to locate the ferals that Scarecrow had asked them to handle. Being the feral creatures that they are, a diplomatic approach proves useless. In one of their tougher combats, the party must fight off multiple feral ratfolk, as well as the swarms that have gathered around them. However, a few slips from the DM while reading the stat block may reveal that these creatures are far worse, and this combat may yield greater repercussions down the road.

SHOUT OUTS
Four Orbs - This week we have a promo from our friends over at the Four Orbs podcast. Four Orbs is another D&D 5e actual play podcast that a couple of us have been listening to for a long time. They have a very unique world that I cannot wait to see more of, as well as a very interesting take on a modification to the regular magic system of D&D. I also know that they are currently in the final legs of their current story arc so now is the perfect time to get caught up for the end!

MS-2-1 - A Gift, A Promise, and A Goodbye
SUMMARY
This episode kicks off the second arc of the Mieveht Story. We rejoin Sug, Willow, Chalul, and Las as they begin to make their way outside of the city of Mieveht.
As the sun begins to set and things die down in The Bannered Mare, the groups current hide out, they are retrieved by Victor Gold, a halfling man who seems to be connected to Cassien. Victor escorts them through his establishment into the basement where they go through a secret door into the network of tunnels below the streets of the city. As they leave, he directs a couple of them to grab a wheel barrow filled with bedding and a sack filled with… questionable goods.
Shortly after entering the tunnel network, the group is met by a mysterious man standing in the pathway ahead of them. It turns out to be Cassien, who has come to give a final farewell to the people responsible for saving his daughter. He gives each member of the party a parting gift as they start their journey.
After traveling through the network of sewer tunnels, Victor stops to let the group know that the items he asked them to carry are some sort of toll for passage through this area. It is after this that they meet Scarecrow and his gang of fellow ratfolk. Though the typically agreed upon payment has been delivered, and is even in better quality than usual, Scarecrow informs Victor and the rest of the party that they will need a little extra to let them pass safely. A few members of Scarecrows gang appear to have gotten some sort of disease and have gone feral. He expects the group to take care of them.
This session was recorded as live stream during Extra Life so there are some little hiccups that were a result of that that hopefully aren’t too noticeable.

MS-2-3 - The Resting Conflict
SUMMARY
Our escaping adventurers have found and slain the feral ratfolk and return to The Rat’s Nest to inform Scarecrow that the job is finished. As proof, Chalul decides to bring the body that they assume is Scabs back with them. As they exit the tunnel, they find themselves face to face with the pointy ends of bows and crossbows as the ratfolk had prepared for the worst. To Scarecrows disappointment, Chalul drops the body of Scabs at his feet, but having taken care of his problem, he decides to reward the party with not only safe passage, but a handful of trinkets he and his gang have… found… while exploring the sewers.
The gang carries on, following Victor’s lead, hoping to reach the end of the sewers without further incident. There hopes are granted for a while. Victor leads them along a well worn path and they avoid any distractions along the way. However, a well worn path means other people must travel along these routes. They spot light ahead of them and Willow sneaks ahead to investigate. She hears two thieves arguing over what seems to be a coin purse. While trying to use her new magic abilities to draw their attention in the opposite direction, she makes a mistake and they come after her.
The fight is quick in these cramped passageways, however, during the fight, one of the party members goes down.
A couple notes about this episode. The intro and outro music has changed since the beginning of the arc. These new pieces will probably be the themes for the rest of the Mieveht Story going forward. There is also a roughly 9 minute conversation after the outro music fades. It does not pertain to the story, but during their short rest, the players took the time to clarify some of the mechanics behind their gifts from Cassien. These items were all homebrewed by me and are available on D&D Beyond under the creator Erylia_DM. I hope to create a section on the website for finding any homebrew I create in the future.

We’d also like to give a shout out to Wonderdraft. Wonderdraft is an amazing piece of map making software and has been being put to use by us to create a map of Syvahl, where the podcast has taken place so far. Wonderdraft allows someone without the skills to create a map with Photoshop to create a beautiful map that can stand side by side with some professionally done commissions. Progress on the Syvahl map can be seen on our Patreon.
