Memento is a 2000 psychological thriller that follows a man named Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce) who suffers from short term memory loss and can not make any new memories. The film is presented with two separate sequences, one being in black and white that is being told in standard chronological order while the second sequence in color is playing scenes in reverse order of how they happen. This way of storytelling gives the audience a similar feeling to the lead character and causes confusion as to what is really happening. In the movie, Leonard uses notes and tattoos to remind himself of things and to try and live a useful life. His primary purpose in life has become to catch the killer of his wife, who also gave him his brain injury that has caused his condition. Yet over time, Leonard begins to become suspicious of his own notes and what is going on and thinks someone is trying to trick him into killing the wrong person. This film is entertaining from start to finish as you try and solve the puzzle of what is happening as you may feel as confused as Leonard.
