Abide in Liberty - The Founders' Principles of Freedom - Part 2 (Unalienable Rights and Where Sovereign Power Lies)

The Founders' Principles of Freedom - Part 2 (Unalienable Rights and Where Sovereign Power Lies)

10/24/22 • 23 min

Abide in Liberty

In this episode, I continue sharing principles of freedom that our Founders believed in and which informed how they built this country. This episode explains what unalienable rights and where the come from. I also dive into the Divine Right of Kings and how revolutionary it was to build a country on the foundation of sovereignty resting with the masses. This seems obvious to us, but the implications of this shift in thinking have been staggering.

The Founders' Principles of Freedom - Part 1

In this episode I review the first 7 principles of freedom from the book, 5000 Year Leap, that virtually all the Founding Fathers agreed with. I cover the political spectrum the Founders used (not right and left), the important of moral citizens and leaders, the role of God and religion in our country, and the difference between equal opportunity and equal outcomes. I demonstrate the importance of letting principles guide our actions with the example of abortion. You don't want to miss it!

The Founders' Principles of Freedom - Part 3 (Establishing New Government, We Are a REPUBLIC!)

Welcome back! In this episode, we continue our study of the principles of liberty by looking at what has to be in place for a nation to alter its form of government, and we look at the Revolutionary War as a case study to see if it meets the criteria for a "just revolution." We applied the same principles and analysis to the Civil War. We also talked about how our country is a Constitutional Republic and NOT a democracy, and why that's a good thing.
