A Sunny Side Up Life Podcast - EP. 65 How To Invest In Joy, Not Just Spend Money This Christmas

EP. 65 How To Invest In Joy, Not Just Spend Money This Christmas

11/14/19 • 31 min

A Sunny Side Up Life Podcast

Holidays don’t have to be filled with guilt, shame, or regret. You don’t have to break your budget or ruin your minimalism goals, and you don’t have to be anti-shopping to be intentional with your Christmas.

Let’s put a breath of fresh air into this year’s holiday shopping. Let’s not just spend money, let’s invest in memories. Let’s enjoy shopping, not in spite of, but because of our budgets. Let’s not just buy the Barbie out of guilt, comparison, or to fill an empty spot under the tree...let’s do it for the joy.

IN THIS EPISODE, SAMI SHARES ABOUT:
  • My best tips to have an intentional gift-giving season
  • Why you don’t have to be anti-shopping if you’re on a budgeting journey
  • Why shopping on a budget is like a challenge
  • How Minimalism can actually bring you freedom during the Holidays
  • The questions to ask yourself before you shop:
    • How much are you spending?
    • Who are you buying for?
    • What types of gifts are you okay with buying?
    • What businesses do you want to support with your money?
    • What are you saying yes to + what are you saying no to?
    • How do you want to feel about all of this in January?
Memorable quote:
  • “I don’t think of it as, ‘I can’t shop because I’m on a budget.’ I think of it as, ‘I’m allowed to shop up until this point’.”
  • “When you go into it with your heart in the wrong place, you taint the experience of something that’s supposed to bring you joy.”
RESOURCES MENTIONED: I'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU...
