A Stripper's Guide Podcast

A VALENTINE'S GAY SPECIAL! In our very first podcast episode together, my romantic partner, A, and I discuss what it was like to set boundaries and assert ourselves from the very beginning of our relationship, and how that practice has led us into a partnership rooted in trust, honesty, and communication. It's our hope that by publicly talking about our relationship--both the challenges and triumphs--we can help other folks out there who might be going through something similar.

Making Use of Shame (with Tifani Truelove)

Shame, unaddressed, can have catastrophic effects on our relationships. When we are too ashamed to admit our true needs or desires, we hide--from the people we love, and, often, even from ourselves. When we hide, we deny others the opportunity to truly get to know us; we deny intimacy. Confronting that of which we are ashamed is essential if we want grow, both as individuals and in our relationships. This episode explores the impacts of shame on our personal relationships, as well as some of the ways that larger systems of oppression, like capitalism, white supremacy, and patriarchy, rely on our shame to function.

The Daddy Issue (with Fecund Maiden)

The phrase “daddy issues” often gets thrown around as a joke or a meme. Maybe it rubs you the wrong way, and maybe you can’t even explain why. If that sounds familiar, allow me and my guest, Tanesha (Fecund Maiden), to help you put your finger on! Join us for this deep-dish analysis of the early 2000s B-rate movie classic, Coyote Ugly, to unearth the issue with daddy issues. (You do not have to have seen this film to enjoy this episode!)
