A Stripper's Guide Podcast

A Stripper's Guide Podcast

Leilah Feinstein

A Stripper’s Guide Podcast highlights the ways that sex workers, femmes, queer folks, and women have to contend with systemic oppressors in our daily lives, and how that affects everything from our intimate relationships and our careers to our mental health and our physical safety.
This show does tackle some heady topics in here, but don't worry -- I also know how to keep you entertained. I’m a stripper, after all ;)
A Stripper's Guide is a multimedia support platform for sex workers and femmes, founded in 2020 by Leilah Feinstein.

One of the scariest ironies of partner abuse: the survivor’s own friends often protect the abuser, because they are the abuser’s friends, too. If the survivor and the abuser are in the same social circles, the people in those circles often see the abusive dynamic and, instead of enforcing social consequences for the abuser, they enable the abuser by continuing to hang out with them.

In this episode, I examine this extremely common, extremely dangerous phenomenon by following a couple (Jax & Brittany) through a season of the reality TV show Vanderpump Rules. This episode is for survivors of partner abuse, and for the people who love us.
If you suspect you or a loved one are in an abusive relationship, I encourage you to listen, and to check out any/all of the following resources:

  • The National Domestic Violence Hotline - for survivor support & informational material in English & Spanish, visit thehotline.org (for immediate help in English/Spanish, call 800-799-SAFE [7233] - TTY: 800-787-3224)
  • The Network/La Red - for queer-specific survivor support & information, visit tnlr.org (for immediate help, call 1-800-832-1901)
  • Becoming the Narcissist’s Nightmare - this book by narcissistic abuse survivor Shahida Arabi is jam-packed with information and resources about the phenomenon of narcissistic abuse and its effect on survivors

A Stripper's Guide Podcast - Date Smarter. Not Harder. (featured guest: A)
play

02/14/22 • 49 min

A VALENTINE'S GAY SPECIAL! In our very first podcast episode together, my romantic partner, A, and I discuss what it was like to set boundaries and assert ourselves from the very beginning of our relationship, and how that practice has led us into a partnership rooted in trust, honesty, and communication. It's our hope that by publicly talking about our relationship--both the challenges and triumphs--we can help other folks out there who might be going through something similar.
Check out my accompanying blog post here!

Sex workers, fat folks, queer folks, and femmes are generally not encouraged to set boundaries for ourselves when it comes to sex . We’re told to act according to society’s script: please our partners, never ask for what we want, and never complain when we don’t get it. In this tarot-infused episode from Erica Sosa, the Queen of Cups and the Queen of Wands show us how to break away from all that to focus on our own joy, pleasure, and desires.

Check out Erica's blog, Revolutionary Hotness, which is all about celebrating herself as a fat femme in a world that wants her to be ashamed of it. Also, find her on Instagram here!

A Stripper's Guide Podcast - When People Get Weird About Your Stripper Money

Last month, a fellow stripper in my Instagramaverse sent me some DMs. Her name is Kay Zingara, and she'd just discovered she'd been robbed. Someone helped themselves to her home stash of stripper cash, and only three people had a key to her house: two friends and her lover. Tune in to hear all about Kay's whodunnit Stripper Scandal of 2022. Also in this episode: I reflect on getting financially abused without even knowing it, and we confirm that Stacy's mom really does have it going on.

Also, my coaching books are now open for January of 2023, but spots are limited! Click here to learn more & book a free consultation.
