A Mental Health Break - How Therapy Changed Her World: Graphic Design to LCSW
play

08/17/22 • 22 min

Self Care, We Are All Unique, Being Honest with Yourself, and so much more. Did you have a transformative moment in your life that led you to focusing on your mental health? If so, this is the show for you!
Some areas of discussion with Mental Health Advocate and Professional Tanya Cole-Lesnick include:

  • • The importance of discomfort and vulnerability for transformation.
    • There's nothing wrong with us, it's just part of the human condition.
    • Why your needs, wants and boundaries are more important than
being “good” or doing what you “should” be doing.
  • • What happens when we don’t honor our energy levels? and so much more.
  • Spotlight Story: As we have a guest on the show who had a transformative experience in therapy, this week we discuss, "8 Celebrities Talk About Their Experiences with Therapy". Follow along here: https://thriveworks.com/blog/celebrities-experiences-therapy/

Tanya Cole-Lesnick has been a psychotherapist and coach since 1995. She received her master’s degree in social work from New York University after group therapy changed her life. She has extensive experience in outpatient hospital mental health, private practice, and wellness center settings.
From those experiences over the years she has identified her most important focus—helping people to live lives that light them up. She does this by helping clients to access and honor their truth, to change habits that don’t serve them, and to heal faulty narratives so that they are living in alignment inside and out.
Her work revolves around intimate groups as the sharing of inner worlds and being human together in a safe space is what she finds to be the most powerful way for lives to transform.

A Mental Health Break - EMDR, Brainspotting, Trauma, and More with TCW's Dallas Trese
play

07/06/22 • 21 min

Welcome to the latest show! A few areas we will touch on are EMDR, Brainspotting, Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety and much more.

This is A Mental Health Break - the podcast where we normalize the conversation on mental health. Weekly interviews each Tuesday since January 2020.
This week's spotlight story will cover Brainspotting.
If you have been listening to the show over the last year, you have heard a message from Tampa Counseling Wellness in the beginning of each episode. It is now time to interview the amazing staff over at TCW! Big shoutout to Carlos and his staff for all of the amazing work he is doing there and continuous support of the show.
Meet Dallas Trese:
I am a therapist who regularly talks during session, frequently providing feedback & perspective to help guide you in developing your own opinion and reflections for your life. I will never know you better than you know yourself, however I can help you navigate a more nurturing and compassionate way to better understand yourself, and those around you. I am passionate & trained in the mind-body connection by utilizing techniques such as EMDR, brain-spotting, & meditative yoga practices.

In our sessions together we will incorporate all parts of you. Your emotional needs, beliefs (mental), physical symptoms of struggles (body), and spiritual aspects (questions about existence and future) will be addressed in our sessions together. If desired we can discuss utilizing a mind-body therapy to integrate the physical body in treatment as well.

My overall training has provided me the opportunity to work with all types of individuals who are struggling and desiring to grow in various areas. However, I am particularly passionate about working with trauma survivors, adolescents, college students, young adults, and female entrepreneurs. Let me pour you a cup of coffee or tea, and let's talk.
