On May 22nd, 2013, Dr Louis Heyns disappeared while driving the 50km route between his and his brother's home. According to his family, he had to have been hijacked because it made no sense from him to have been where his body was discovered: A notorious gay cruising spot in Strand, 5km out of his way. His killers insisted that he had approached them, seeking sex, but his family insist that he was straight and would have never engaged the services of a rentboy.

On April 11th, 2004, Adam Woest and Trevor Theys were sentenced to life imprisonment nine times over for murder for the killing of nine men in a house in Sea Point, Cape Town and 20 years for the attempted murder of the sole survivor. Trevor Theys died in 2009 but now, Adam Woest is being considered for early parole.
Leigh Visser, the sister of Warren Robert Visser, one of the men killed, is determined to see Adam Woest serve out his sentence in its entirety. She spoke to Nj about her brother, what her family went through, and the campaign she has launched, calling on President Ramaphosa to keep her brother's killer behind bars.
