Mitchell Rabin on Mind Over Matter & Imaging the World We Most Want
Mitchell Rabin speaks this evening about the idea of Mind over Matter & imaging the world we most want.. On one hand, this could be called psychokinesis parapsychologically, and it is also the activation of will, jettisoning the body, heart, mind and soul into action. When one learns or knows how to center, and align, when one has one’s values ‘in hand’ and then sense of meaning and purpose alive as well, magic can and does happen. When we look sociologically, psychologically, anthropologically and spiritually at our species in particular and the state of our habitat and all its sentient life in general, we see that we are at, well, another precipitous moment in simultaneously planetary-climatic and human history. It’s not the first juncture of these but it may be one of the most life-threatening on a mass scale. While so much is going on these days socially, politically and ethically that makes us want to grab the Creator’s sleeve and say “What’s up, how imperfect did you make this human creature?” we have ourselves to turn to in order to transform the species before we indeed are “transformed’ in the old sense of “ash-to-ash....” Doesn’t sound good? Great! Let’s roll our sleeves up and get to it, forming partnerships with our indigenous brothers and sisters, with enlightened government officials and with socially-minded, eco-minded captains of finance and industry. Even after all the damage our species has inflicted on our habitat and on itself, we will not all that to deter us, unspeakably horrific as it is and work diligently to turn this ship around.
