09/21/20 • 49 min
Hello Warriors and Battle Buddies!
Welcome to A BATTLE WITHIN, Episode 083
Today we speak with Chris Dittrich. He is a bit of a world traveler working in the hotel industry.
Chris experienced a severe brain injury back in March 2008 which left him in a coma for 3.5 weeks. This went down his senior year of high school.
He has been working diligently in healing ever since. Much of what he did was through setting small achievable goals along the way.
Chris is extremely open and honest about his story on the regular through Instagram video's and lives by the motto of Keep Moving Forward! which we explore in the conversation as well.

082: Finding the Courage to Heal
Hello Warriors and Battle Buddies!
Welcome to A BATTLE WITHIN, Episode 082
A BATTLE WITHIN is about our life experiences and those of our guests living with and healing from Traumatic Brain Injuries with an emphasis on the Post Concussion Syndrome otherwise known as (PCS)
It is our desire that this platform be a useful way to create awareness around the invisible injury. We aim to help those in the battle, whether that is you the Warrior or you the Battle Buddy by offering the stories and resources we have found along the way in our own journey.
On the program today, Terry and I investigate courage and it's place in the TBI world. Why do so many posses it? Is it innate to the individual? Or is it simply a learned behavior?
We speak to it from a place where Terry recently received some bad news and we get into that a bit as well. Be warned Terry gets a bit upset during the conversation, but it is real and raw as we have promised.

Hello Warriors and Battle Buddies!
Welcome to A BATTLE WITHIN, Episode 084, I'm Drew Niemann and I'll be joined by my wife Terry, the inspiration for the program shortly.
Okay, Today on A BATTLE WITHIN, Terry and I sit down to talk about Memory and Cognition. Our experiences and some strategies to consider.
We also talk about vision and vestibular systems and their impact on ones memory. Not something most would consider, but certainly worth looking into.
We hope you come away with some tools and strategies to help during your own journey.
