Gooood morning!
For the 20th episode, we take a trip down memory and discuss everything from what we've been watching to why 1998 was such a pivotal cultural year.
Here's a shortlist of some hot takes...
- Jordan finally watched Thor: Ragnarok
- Led Zeppelin never had a bad album
- For some reason Jordan started watching Blue Bloods
- Joe's distaste for what would become known as the nu-metal
- A brief eulogy for Anthony Bourdain (RIP)
Yes the theme of the 20th episode is what happened 20 years ago. The numerology connects like Corsican Brother. After the break, we sit down with Jose Torres, a producer/filmmaker, who worked on a documentary for Tidal about Big Pun's classic debut album Capital Punishment. The album, which was released in, you guessed it, 1998, stood out as a huge moment for Bronx, NY hip-hop, with its influence still being felt in other variations today.
So if you're feeling nostalgic and/or in the mood for a great interview, fire up those Bluetooth speakers or headphones and listen to this episode.
Shout-outs to the following...
- The Point
- Bronx River Art Center
- The Bronx Is Reading
- Brook England

Episode 19: Infinity Beef
Goooood morning,
What do you know, we're back to a Saturday release. Since we're recapping the last few weeks there are some things we may have missed. At the time of the recording, we had only seen game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals, and at time of this episode release, the Warriors have won the championship.
We also dive a little bit into the recent Pusha T and Drake beef which had the internet talking for several days straight and, after the break, we discuss yet another hotly debated summertime beef: Thanos and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Special thanks to Mike, for passing by again, and Luis for their contribution to the Infinity War discussion.
Also, we didn't get a chance to mention it on this episode, but we share our condolences to the families of Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain and anyone else who has lost a family member or loved one due to depression and mental health issues. If you or someone you know has expressed self harm we recommend the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255.

Episode 21: Dinosaurs and Spike Lee
Gooooood morning!
Shifter, we apologize for missing the last week. We are back and in this episode we cover a lot of ground, discussing stuff that took place last week.
Here are the lows...
Here are the highs...
- Joe went to watch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom; tries to convince Jordan to follow suit.
- Jordan believes that the spirit sequel to Jurassic Park is Westworld.
- Joe watched Won't You Be My Neighbor, the current Mr. Roger's documentary, which "reveals" to the world that Mr. Rogers was a Republican.
- Jordan highly recommends the Pixar film, The Good Dinosaur.
- Both Jordan and Joe agree that the next Jurassic World should be like DinoRiders (something that was eerily referenced in a Birth.Movies.Death article circa December 2017).
After the break, we sit down with indie filmmaker and current NYU grad student, Alexander Etseyatse, who is working on his web series Otis. During our conversation he discusses his inspiration, his receipt of the 2018 Spike Lee Recipient Fun, and of course what it's like to have Spike look at your work. It's a great interview with a great up-and-coming content creator.
