ABOUT DR. SHAUNA WHITE:

Shauna White, PharmD, RPh, MS is the Executive Director of the District of Columbia Board of Pharmacy and Program Manager of the Pharmaceutical Division at DC Health. She is responsible for regulating the practice of pharmacy and the drug supply chain in the District of Columbia. Dr. White is licensed to practice pharmacy in the District of Columbia and Maryland. Dr. White serves as an experiential learning preceptor for Howard University College of Pharmacy. She is active in the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy where she serves on the Law Enforcement and Legislative Committee. She is also active in the National Association of State Controlled Substance Authorities.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Doctorate in Pharmacy and Masters in Regulatory Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Born in Washington DC and raised in Prince Georges County Maryland, Dr. White gives back to her community by volunteering with local churches and serving as a mentor to high school students. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Lametra Scott

  • Scott is the Founder/CEO of the non-profit organization Breaking The SSickle Cell Cycle Foundation, Inc., a pharmacy consultant, and mother of a child with sickle cell disease. Dr. Scott has worked in pharmacy for 20 years. Over the last 10 years, she has worked in managed care pharmacy assisting organizations with developing strategies to provide cost-effective pharmaceutical care and improving patient outcomes. She is currently the Director of Pharmacy for TN Dept. Of Correction. As a caregiver and healthcare professional, Dr. Scott understands the challenges associated with treating complex conditions like sickle cell disease. In 2015, Dr. Scott decided to leverage her experiences in managed care and community pharmacy and founded a non-profit for sickle cell disease which focuses on promoting community awareness, education, and prevention of sickle cell disease. Dr. Scott has led numerous outreach efforts to educate the community and other healthcare professionals about sickle cell disease. She has worked with national organizations to improve SCD education. Dr. Scott has been recognized for her involvement in sickle cell advocacy. She has been featured in magazines, on the CDC's website " Real Stories from People Living with Sickle Cell Disease" and she is also a Power Moves Award recipient, an honor that is awarded to “Ordinary people doing EXTRAordinary things" in the community. Dr. Scott also received the Presidential Certificate of Appreciation from the Clarksville Branch of the NAACP for her contributions to the Sickle Cell Educational Forum. She most recently received the Music City USA Gold Record award in recognition of her sickle cell advocacy efforts in Nashville. She contributes to student pharmacist academic development and conducts didactic presentations on sickle cell disease at both the University of TN and Lipscomb College of Pharmacy. Dr. Scott obtained her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and she also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Memphis. She believes patient engagement and inclusion is key to developing best practices for providing care to sickle cell patients. Her contributions have been published in the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved.

  • Orlando Palmer, founder of Parker’s Pharmacy started his career as a pharmacist in 2003 after graduating from Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy. With over fourteen years of experience as a pharmacist, he has seen the industry from multiple vantage points. O is known by his patients and the community as a helpful and educated medical counselor. Dr. O dedicates his time to providing community outreach health presentations and advocating positive health outcomes for his patients. Dr. O has a reputation within the health care community as an effective communicator and a solution finder. In his spare time, Dr. O enjoys sporting events, grilling and eating seafood.

Kyle Palmer

  • Kyle Palmer, co-owner of Parker’s Pharmacy serves as the Marketing Executive of the company, with nine years of experience in the field of marketing. The Baton Rouge native, moved to Billings, Montana in 2007 to further his education at Montana State University of Billings on a full-athletic scholarship to play basketball. Kyle received his B.S. Degree in Elementary Education and was well known for his contributions with children of all walks of life in the community. After college, Kyle launched a marketing firm and a youth sporting event company that made an impact throughout the community during his ten years of living in Montana. As Kyle returned to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his mission is to educate the community on self-health while utilizing effective marketing strategies for Parker’s Pharmacy. In addition to Parker’s Pharmacy, Kyle plans to launch his Baton Rouge-based marketing firm in the near future. Kyle loves basketball, marketing, teaching, playing ping pong, fishing, art and eating seafood.

In 2019, Judge Maldonado published her memoir and credits it with being a huge part of her healing journey from the traumas of her childhood. Judge Njeri Battiste Maldonado is a 2001 Xavier University political science graduate. She graduated from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2005. In September 2016, Judge Maldonado was appointed by former United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch to serve as an Immigration Judge. She currently serves as a judge in Atlanta, Georgia where she resides with her husband, Ramon, their twin (Xavierite) daughters, and two sons. Judge Maldonado published her memoir, Mama Didn’t Raise This Woman, in June 2019.
