For our latest deep and meaningful conversation in the world of bass music 1 More Thing welcomes a record breaking barsmith... Harry Shotta.
Renowned for his turbo-charged double-time lyrical craftmanship, and his infectious enthusiasm and positive attitude, Harry has been devouring hip-hop since the age of 6 and describes himself as a lifelong student of rap culture.
Still just as inspired by the music today, Harry has been at the forefront of UK MC culture since he broke through in the mid 2000s. Bringing his hip-hop roots to drum & bass, his CV is a litany of trailblazing projects both as a solo artist and as a key member of iconic outfits such as The Uncontrollablez, SASASAS and his most recent project Road Block.
Wrapping up our trilogy of MC-focused interviews to mark the recent 50 year hip-hop celebrations in NYC last month, Harry sits down with Dave Columbo Jenkins to chat about his roots and upbringing, his love for collaborations, the legacy and influence of the late, great Skibadee and so much more.
As always, this is a super inspiring conversation that provides a rare insight into the life of a disciplined artist who's devoted their life to their craft and set incredible benchmarks for the scene. Enjoy!

1 More Thing Podcast #012: Armanni Reign
A journey from US to UK, from hip-hop to D&B... The latest episode of the 1 More Thing podcast is dedicated to none other than Armanni Reign.
Since he first picked up the mic in the 90s, Armanni has explored the full range of the rap terrain from street cyphers to some of the biggest stages in electronic music.
An MC pioneer in the US drum & bass movement since the early 2000s, and the very first American Metalheadz resident, Armanni's dexterous, intelligent and fiery flows have peppered every style imaginable. Most recently they've come full circle with his Last Rhetoric project, a collaboration with Bro Safari. Their album Old Tales is the most personal and accomplished body of work Armanni has created to date and continues to galvanise his status as one of the most versatile MCs across the electronic multiverse.
A self-described nerd, Armanni - or David Bruce if you'd like to be formal - approaches his craft with equal measures of science and creativity. A hugely humble, thoughtful and humorous artist, he joins 1 More Thing host Dave Columbo Jenkins to shed a little light on his journey so far, reflect on his deep love for hip-hop and discuss everything from the civil rights movement to mental health to the difference between being a David and a Dave.
As always, this one goes super deep. Get to know.

1 More Thing Podcast #014: Total Science
It's the 1 More Thing podcast!
Back once again with more deep tales from the foundations and stories from the underground. This time with one of the most consistent and influential drum & bass acts to ever emerge from the early 90s: Total Science
Linked through hip-hop since 1987 and active on the very forefront of rave culture since 1992, Jason Quiff Q Project and Paul Smithy Spinback have had a prominent presence on the scene since day one and boast an unbroken discography that has seen them put out fresh original music every single year. As far as 1 More Thing's research can tell, they are the only first-generation act in the genre to achieve this.
Whether it's on their own label Computer Integrated Audio or pretty much every other label in the game from Metalheadz to Reinforced to Good Looking to Critical to Hospital and every single stable in between, Total Science have always stood for timeless uncut drum & bass. Trend-free. Fad-free. Just pure breakbeat creativity.
It's a creativity and passion that has driven them throughout the decades and super-charged them through the genre's ever-changing twists and turns. It's also carried them through a hugely challenging period of poor health and determined self-development... A period that has been so tough, this is actually their first interview together in almost five years!
Getting deep into the topics of mental health, self development, discipline and working class roots, this is Quiff and Smithy at their most poignant, reflective and thoughtful. No other interview they've ever done in the past comes close.
Join them and Dave Columbo Jenkins and prepare to be inspired.
