Questions ... questions .... questions.
We all have questions about our health, our pets, death and the afterlife ... well, in this episode we give you access to the answers. Simply Ask Julie Ryan.

Afraid of Nothing Podcast - Afraid of SK Pierce House

Afraid of SK Pierce House

Afraid of Nothing Podcast

Send us a text

What's better than sitting down to interview the Manager of one of the country's most haunted houses -- at the haunted house? What made the interview extra interesting was the SK Pierce Manager (Marion Luoma) seeing what she thought was an apparition behind me on the main staircase in mid-question. I was wondering why her jaw dropped. Oh well, just a typical day at the SK Pierce Haunted Mansion in Gardner, Mass.
In this episode, I start by sharing some original interview audio from the day we shot at the Victorian Mansion for the documentary "Afraid of Nothing" back in 2018 with Shaman Brad "Little Frog" Hudson (see episodes 1 and 2). Then we revisit Marion in the present day as the Mansion is completely renovated and ready to open -- with a backlog of over 5,000 visitors for when the beautiful bed and breakfast opens its doors to the public. Marion shares great stories not just at the SK Pierce Mansion; but also from two recent visits to the Conjuring House where I'll have the good (creepy) fortune to accompany her and her fellow ghost-explorers in March.

Afraid of Nothing Podcast - Afraid of Pets and the Afterlife 3

Afraid of Pets and the Afterlife 3

Afraid of Nothing Podcast

Send us a text

He's baaaaack ... or should I say, He's bark-bark-bark!
Author, pet psychic and paranormal investigator (and mild-mannered meteorologist by day) Rob Gutro, our most popular guest to date, revisits the show to talk about his new book Pets and the Afterlife 3.
2020 was tough on us all, but particularly so for Rob who lost two beloved pets during the tumultuous year -- a presidential Dachshund named Franklin and a warm Weimaraner named Dolly. Once again, as with his first book when he lost a pup named Buzz, the two pets came back with messages to help overcome grief and provide reassurance that they are always with him. And Rob's book - the 3rd in this series (and a 4th on cats is coming) - gives reassurance and hope to hundreds to thousands of readers by sharing many inspirational stories and professional tips on managing grief.
This book hits close to home as it also includes a chapter about my good friend Dan Miller who lost a dog and had an uncanny reading from Rob. This was covered in episode 25 - Afraid of Contacting Your Pet on the Other Side.
Rob's website/blog is here . You can also message Rob on Facebook. If you would like a pet reading -- send Rob a message on Facebook or via his website ... but please be patient as he does the readings on weekends only. There is a modest fee of $10 per reading.
AUTHOR ALERT: Enjoy the episode? Buy the author's book(s) on our Affiliates page.

Note: I may receive a commission if you make a purchase through the Amazon affiliate links. But you may discover a great read, which is a reward in and of itself.

Afraid of Nothing Podcast - Afraid of Marine Cryptids

Afraid of Marine Cryptids

Afraid of Nothing Podcast

Send us a text

Sit back, sip on your favorite bourbon and get ready to learn, my paranormal pals.

David Goudsward is a prolific researcher and esteemed author who combines humor and hubris with a love of history. David’s expertise and interests run a wide gamut of the literary and paranormal, but in this episode we focus on marine cryptids off Florida, the Southeastern Coast and the Caribbean up to New England ... and dig into the backstroy of a stone monolith known as "Mystery Hill" (also known as "America's Stonehenge").

David’s eclectic bibliography can be perused at http://www.goudsward.com/ (click on the link to the good-looking elder brother – David Goudsward; however, Scott Goudsward writes some mean horror himself).
AUTHOR ALERT: Enjoy the episode? Buy the author's book(s) on our Affiliates page.

Afraid of Nothing Podcast - Afraid of The Hinsdale House

Afraid of The Hinsdale House

Afraid of Nothing Podcast

Send us a text

Have you ever wanted to buy a haunted house? Tonight's guest has bought two. Daniel Klaes, a paranormal author and investigator, purchased his haunted childhood home to re-confront the ghosts of his past. More recently Daniel purchased the infamous Hinsdale house in 2015 and has made it accessible to the public.
The back story...
The haunted house in Hinsdale, perhaps the most famous haunted house in New York, has all the elements of a good ghost story: a mysterious history, strange sightings, unexplainable events and even an exorcism. The house on McMahon Road first gained notoriety when a book, “Echoes of a Haunting,” was written by Clara Miller/Dandy.

Clara and Phil Dandy lived in the house along with their children in the early 1970s. During their time there, the Dandy family were visited by many spirits. Father Alphonsus, a priest from St. Bonaventure University, was at the house more than once to perform an exorcism. It worked for awhile, but as time went by, the Dandy family lost the battle and ended up leaving the house for good.

In 2006 an episode of “A Haunting” aired on the Discovery Channel, based on the Dandy family and their experiences. As the years passed by, a few families have lived in the home but didn’t stay for long. The last occupants of the Hinsdale House were Joe and Florence Misnik, who passed away a few months from one another.

In 2015, Daniel Klaes put in a bid to save the deteriorated structure from being torn down -- preserving the 200 year-old farm house for future generations of paranormal researchers and enthusiasts. Daniel's website is www.danielklaes.com.

Afraid of Nothing Podcast - Afraid of Ghosts of the Bird Cage Theatre

Send us a text

Medium, paranormal investigator and best-selling Amazon author Rob Gutro is back to talk about his latest book, Ghosts of the Bird Cage Theatre on a Medium's Vacation. Every interview with Rob is entertaining, but this one had an added bonus as I uncovered what I think were several EVPs that bled through Rob's audio and were discovered during the audio edit in post.
About Rob Gutro
In addition to being an author, Rob is a scientist and member of Inspired Ghost Tracking paranormal group where he is a medium on the team. Rob has become known as a Pet Medium, although he connects with people and pets. His books teach others how to recognize signs from people and pets who have passed. Rob has made the distinction between a Ghost and Spirit and why it's Important to know, and how they all use energies (physical and emotional) to convey messages. On investigations Rob sketches what ghosts look like. He teaches people how to protect themselves, why ghosts stay, what ghosts can do, what spirits can do, when spirits of our loved one visit us and all the signs to look for. He also explains why ghosts are stuck in one place.
Rob's books include the Pets in the Afterlife series (books 1 thru 3), as well as Kindred Spirits, Case Files of Inspired Ghost Tracking, Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation and his newest book, Ghosts of the Bird Cage Theatre on a Medium's Vacation. Rob is currently working on Pets and the Afterlife 4 and Kindred Spirits 2.
