It's not the things that happen in your life that define you, that create your identity. It's how you talk about those things. That’s the theme behind this podcast. Research shows that the stories you tell have a major influence in how you see yourself and in how others perceive you, so it’s important to be intentional about which stories you share and how you share them. Guests on the podcast share the pivotal moments in their lives and careers, offering keen insights and “ah ha” moments to listeners, while triggering related memories of listeners, opening up opportunities to uncover their own patterns and discover better ways to share their stories. During this podcast, I’m asking you to listen to consider your related stories, and to listen to consider which stories in your life might have impacted you in a similar way. --- Sarah works with executives who know that story sharing makes them more compelling as speakers and leaders, and who want to improve how they connect with audiences, by uncovering the right stories and learning how to share them effectively so they can clearly and actively demonstrate their character, values, and vision.

Philosophy and philosophical enquiries are relevant in some shape or form to many aspects of everyday life, for example our treatment of the environment, the rapidity of today's technological progress, whether animals should have rights and if so how they should compare to ours. Philosophy also encompasses questions about the existence of God, how life is sustained on earth, and even at what point should the Government intrude on a person's freedom. This album introduces the study of philosophy and the human situation, and contains talks and debates from leading philosophical thinkers and teachers, past and present. This material forms part of The Open University course A211 Philosophy and the human situation.

The purpose of this podcast is to explore the power of human experiences, and more specifically, the way in which what we experience shapes who we become. Who we are, and how we show up in the world is, in essence, a culmination of the experiences that have happened to us, or that we have been exposed to. This will be an intentional journey into the lives of individuals joining episodes to share accounts of significant, impactful, life altering experiences from which they were forever changed; whether a profound shift in perception about something, a sudden realization about a situation or person, an unexpected pivot in their perception of the world, and their purpose in it. We will also explore the power that lies within ourselves to mindfully create experiences; more importantly, how we can leverage this power to design our lives with purpose, break cycles, and illuminate our world and the worlds of others through intentional energy. At its core, this project will center raw, authentic exchanges, organic dialogue and soul shifting conversations about the human experience to promote personal growth, enlightenment, and ultimately, global human connectedness.

This is especially true when they do not have a state authorised immigration status - some are denied basic legal protections, while others can access certain forms of social assistance and healthcare. Host Professor Bridget Anderson talks to her co-researchers from Italy to Sweden to Croatia about their project PRIME (Protecting Irregular Migrants in Europe), asking how and why the experiences of these migrants vary so much across countries. The team reflect on the stories of migrants they meet, the communities receiving them and the institutions making their journeys easier, more difficult or impossible.

Bridget Anderson is the co-Principal Investigator on the PRIME project, Professor of Migration, Mobilities and Citizenship at the University of Bristol, and Director of Migration Mobilities Bristol.
