All Things Crime is a new, comprehensive podcast series that will explore every aspect of crime and the ensuing investigation, one interview at a time. Host, Jared Bradley, discusses securing the crime scene, scouring the scene for evidence, putting together the crime, DNA evidence, homicide, rape, assault, murder, serial killings, lab technologies, fingerprint powder and other crime scene mainstays, defense and prosecution, and even some wrongful convictions.
Jared is also the President of M-Vac Systems, which is a wet-vacuum based forensic DNA collection system, and has experience traveling the world training all levels of law enforcement and crime lab DNA analysts in using the M-Vac to help solve crime.
Along the way he has met people from all walks of life and experience in investigating crimes, so is putting that knowledge to use in another way by sharing it in these podcasts.

Mutter zu werden, ist für sie nicht selbstverständlich. Als sie sich mit ihrem Freund Alex nach einigen beinahe philosophischen Diskussionen für ein Kind bereit fühlt, passiert etwas, mit dem sie nie gerechnet hätte: Sie wird nicht schwanger. Über Jahre. Es klappt einfach nicht. Nicht auf natürlichem Weg jedenfalls. Sie beginnt, Gründe zu suchen. Und Lösungen. Alternativen. Sie informiert sich akribisch. Spricht mit Experten. Mit Betroffenen. Schnell wird klar: es gibt deutlich mehr Menschen mit unerfülltem Kinderwunsch, als sie sich bisher vorgestellt hat.
Ihr persönlicher Weg führt Marie letztendlich in eine Kinderwunschklinik. Sie begibt sich auf eine Reise, auf die sie sich damals nicht vorbereiten konnte: Anstrengend, seelisch belastend und hoch emotional. Hoffnung und Enttäuschung lagen nie näher beieinander. Maries erste Versuche scheitern. Immer öfter entgleitet ihr die Zuversicht. Sie wird unsicher. Kann mein Körper überhaupt befruchtet werden? Was ist falsch an mir? Oder ist Alex das Problem? Seinen Part im Prozess der assistierten Reproduktion beschreibt er später als "entwürdigend" - jedenfalls für den Mann.
In dieser Phase werden auch Überlegungen zu Adoption und Pflegekind intensiver. Marie jedoch beschließt: Ich will eine leibliche Schwangerschaft erleben. Ich möchte die Miniversion von uns auf die Welt bringen. Die besten Eigenschaften von Alex und von mir, vereint. Es ist nicht nur meine DNA. Es ist mein Vermächtnis. Es ist meine Botschaft an unsere Generation, und an uns selbst. An unsere Verpflichtung, eine intakte Welt zu hinterlassen. Bei Marie und Alex zeigt sich das Schicksal wohlwollend. Marie wird schwanger. Das Paar sagt heute: Künstliche Befruchtung hat mit Romantik wenig zu tun - ist aber keinesfalls eine Schwangerschaft, die weniger echt oder gar seelenlos wäre. Im Gegenteil.
Dieser Podcast zeigt Maries und Alex` emotionale Reise zum eigenen Kind. Flankiert von Fachleuten, die Marie auf ihrem Weg begleiten, beraten und behandelt haben. Er dokumentiert eine schonungslos intime, ehrliche und gleichsam lehrreiche Lebensphase. Er zeigt ungeschminkte Realitäten zwischen Euphorie und Hilflosigkeit.
