Podcaster Q&A

Tell us about yourself – what is your background?

Hey, I'm Barnabas. I've loved cryptography for as long as I can remember. I love connecting with listeners!

Why did you get into podcasting?

My mom has listened to podcasts for years, and then while we were having renovations on our house, she played some podcasts (specifically But Why? A Podcast for Curious Kids, Circle Round, and What If World) for the kids (me and my siblings). I now work with these podcasts occasionally.

How did the idea for the show come about?

I randomly think of designing and creating things when I wake up, such as Video Games, entire song verses, etc. One day in early 2021, I decided I wanted to do a podcast about one of my favorite topics- secret messages, called The Kids' Code Podcast, and the show was born.

What do you hope listeners take from the show?

I hope the show is entertaining, but, especially, informative. I hope listeners will learn about a code or cipher and be able to have conversations about it!

What's been the biggest challenge for you?

Reaching kids! I know a ton of kids enjoy the subject (it's partially a psychological thing), but since there is very little content on the subject online, it's hard to find ways of getting kids to hear about the show.

How can your listeners support your show?

Tell a friend! Also, contact me here on Goodpods or in a page linked in the episode descriptions with any mistakes I may have made or a cipher you've created or would like to tell the show about.

Any future plans that you'd like to share?

Work with experts in the field for fact-checking and such, get a website (finally), get an LLC for the podcast and surrounding resources, start a companion YouTube channel, the list goes on and on!
