Tell us about yourself – what is your background?
Brian began his love of film in high school, tied into his love of music. Over the years, I gradually started to think deeper about both, and that led me to writing about film. As I started to want to make my writing and musical compositions more prevalent, Sonic Cinema was born.
Why did you get into podcasting?
One of the things I’ve always wanted Sonic Cinema to be was a conversation about film. For years, that meant fan commentaries, but in 2015, I decided to transition to podcasting, because it allowed for a wider discussion on film in general.
How did the idea for the show come about?
The Sonic Cinema Podcast began as an extension of my desire to share my love of movies with people, from my own perspective, including filmmakers whose work would not be readily available for others to see.
What do you hope listeners take from the show?
My goal with the show is to give listeners a fun and insightful discussion on whatever topic we are covering that particular episode.
How can your listeners support your show?
In addition to subscribing, rating and reviewing the podcast on Goodpods, sharing it with friends and families whom you might think would be interested. We also have a Patreon at www.patreon.com/soniccinema for more content, including exclusive audio essays.
Any future plans that you'd like to share?
I will be once again covering the Renegade Film Festival, and hopefully the Atlanta Film Festival, later in the year.
