Podcaster Q&A

Tell us about yourself – what is your background?

I worked in television for many years, eventually writing for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Star Trek: Voyager, The New Addams Family and many others. Since then, I have started writing novels and short stories--many of which make their way onto my podcast.

Why did you get into podcasting?

I wanted a way to stay connected with readers between books. So, I started writing short stories every week or two, narrating them, adding some sound effects and presenting them on my podcast. Hopefully people who enjoy my stories will subscribe and take a look at my long form work as well.

How did the idea for the show come about?

I was inspired by the Godfather of fiction podcasts, Scott Sigler. He started podcasting the audio version of his novels way back in 2006 and has since become a New York Times Bestseller and still has the podcast going strong.

What do you hope listeners take from the show?

I hope they're entertained. I like these weekly short stories to my work doing episodic television. I hope they make an appointment to tune in every weekend when I present a new story and enjoy it enough to share with other.

What's been the biggest challenge for you?

Time. I've been creating deeper and more involved soundscapes to go along with my narration, and it's become very time consuming.

How can your listeners support your show?

Subscribe, share, buy my books on Amazon or Audible. Sign up for my email list at my website, https://BedtimeStories.studio, and I'll send you a free bookmark!

Any future plans that you'd like to share?

I'll be publishing a print anthology of some of my stories soon along with an audiobook version that will have the fully produced episodes in it.
