How did the idea for the show come about?

Our lead producer had been fascinated by D&D forever but had never understood why people played the game. However, when he heard comedians play it was a lightbulb moment. D&D is a vehicle for story and amazing laughs! He quickly pulled together a team of comedians from his experiences with Second City Toronto and sourced a weapons-grade DM to helm the group’s adventures. The show that resulted was Dumb-Dumbs & Dragons - a podcast where improvisers and comedians play D&D for the very first time!

What do you hope listeners take from the show?

We want them to have fun, to imagine themselves at the table with us, and to leave with a smile, some laughs, and maybe even a few tears! We want to make you excited about our game, your game, or the game you’ve always imagined starting. It’s all about loving TTRPGs and the goofy, magnificent and ridiculous characters they include.

What's been the biggest challenge for you?

Our biggest challenge is the scale of our ambitions! In addition to Dumb-Dumbs & Dragons, which has been releasing new episodes weekly since 2017, we’ve also launched 7 more shows (2 of which are in weekly release). Dumb-Dumbs & Dice is also launching 3 more weekly shows later this year - which will be some of the most exciting series we’ve EVER produced.
