In NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), a timeline refers to how we internally organise and experience time, including our memories of the past and our expectations for the future. It's not a literal timeline like those in history books but rather a mental framework shaping how we process and interact with time. Ultimately, NLP timelines are a transformative tool for understanding our perception of time and using that understanding to improve our emotional state and achieve our goals. This knowledge can inspire hope and optimism, showing us the potential for positive change in our lives. Watch Dr Steve Livestream

Neurolinguistic programming, commonly known as NLP, is "a therapy designed to alter behavior by reprogramming unconscious patterns of thought.” NLP was co-created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the early 1970s. They both worked in San Francisco. Bandler was a post-graduate computer programmer, and Grinder was an academic expert in linguistics. They were both brilliant in their individual fields, and when they combined their considerable skills, the result was NLP. Hundreds of thousands, and maybe millions of people have been trained since then, and these graduates come from all walks of life, including Presidents and stars of stage, screen, and sporting arenas. What they share in common is that NLP has literally changed the way they think about themselves and the world around them. Bandler and Grinder were fascinated by individuals who produced results far beyond their peers. Their premise was,” If they can do that, then so can we. We just need to discover their secrets." NLP chunking up refers to taking specific information or situations and zooming out to see the bigger picture. It's a way of shifting perspective from the details to the broader context. NLP chunking down refers to breaking down information into manageable pieces, like organising your clothes wardrobe. Chunking down specifically focuses on zooming in on the details. NLP chunking can be used in various situations. It's a helpful tool for setting goals, boosting motivation, solving problems, and understanding information better, and providing reassurance. Born a prince, Siddhartha Gautama abandoned his luxurious life after witnessing human suffering. Seeking enlightenment, he practiced asceticism but found it extreme. Meditating under a Bodhi tree, he attained enlightenment and became the Buddha. His compassionate legacy continues to inspire millions worldwide.
The Buddha's teachings, although ancient, still deeply impact lives today. His emphasis on mindfulness and meditation helps people cultivate inner peace and manage stress. The Four Noble Truths offer a framework to understand and address suffering, while the Eightfold Path provides a practical guide to ethical and fulfilling living. Buddhist principles promote compassion, self-awareness, and acceptance, empowering individuals to navigate life's challenges with resilience and find lasting happiness.

Here's a breakdown of the conscious mind, unconscious mind, and ego and how they work together (or sometimes against each other). Get this right and you will soar like an eagle. Get this wrong and life could be very challenging and not much fun. The Conscious Mind:
  • Picture the conscious mind as the visible tip of an iceberg, where your current thoughts, feelings, and sensations reside, like the sunlit surface of the sea.
  • You're aware of what you're thinking about, what you're feeling right now, and what you're perceiving through your senses.
  • This is where you make conscious decisions, solve problems, and analyze information.
The Unconscious Mind:
  • This is the vast, mysterious underwater part of the iceberg.
  • It contains everything you're not currently aware of but that still influences you.
  • This includes:
    • Memories, both positive and negative, that may be tucked away.
    • Deep-seated emotions and motivations.
    • Learned habits and behaviors.
    • Unconscious biases that shape your perceptions.
The Ego:
  • The ego acts as a mediator between the conscious and unconscious mind.
  • It's part of the conscious mind that tries to satisfy our needs and desires while following the rules of the real world.
  • The ego helps us form our sense of self-identity and navigate social situations.

Carl Jung coined the phrase 'Collective Unconscious', and it is probably his greatest contribution to our understanding of how the mind works. The concept of our collective unconscious opens the door to the possibility that our unconscious mind is information shared with with others. This means that if we can tap into our unconscious mind we can access all the skills we need. With our current knowledge of genetics and DNA it is not such a huge leap of faith to believe that our hard-wired emotions and instincts arise as part of our collective psychic inheritance, as does our anatomy. The earliest recorded descriptions of the tiny pineal gland come from the ancient Greeks. Some believed it was a sort of "third eye" that connected " people to the spiritual realm. The 17th century philosopher René Descartes had a more mystical view of the pineal gland. He described it as the "principal seat of the soul" and believed it was the point where the mind and body interacted. The Hindus also believe that this gland is the third eye seven chakras of the body. Many other mystical, metaphysical, and occult theories concern the pineal gland's role. If the major pharmaceutical companies are becoming increasingly excited about the pineal gland, then so should we. Watch Dr Steve Livestream
