This week we are joined by John Johnson from the Yacht Buoy Youtube channel. We talk about his previous military experience, his early learnings on YouTube, working with large brands, and SO much more!

About John:

After leaving school, I served in the Royal Navy for six years. When I left, I worked in sales and marketing for two years before starting my own insurance business. I grew the business from scratch and had a turnover of around £50,000 per month, and was writing about £150,000 of premium per month. I had 11 employees before I sold my share of my business to my business partners. I then got married, had my first child, and started up a social media management business. Around 18 months ago, I started my YouTube channel 'Yacht Buoy' because I love boats. 18 months later, I am on around 800k views per month, and I have worked with big superyacht builders such as Bering Yachts, Nordhavn, Icon Yachts, and a few others. I am just about to hit 20k subs

This week we are joined by Tom from Clycling366 on YouTube. We chat about his quick growth on his channel, his ability to get beyond the "Imposter Syndrome," and how he plans to monetize and go full-time on YouTube eventually.

About Tom:

Hi! I’m Tom, a Yorkshire (UK) lad in love with adventures, the outdoors, and bikepacking! In 2013, I went on my first bikepacking adventure with my Dad in France. We had such an incredible experience that we’ve kept up the bikepacking tradition at least once every year together!

Since the 2020 lockdown and being put on furlough at my current company for six months, I started learning about videography and have been publishing my bikepacking adventure films on my YouTube channel, each film better than the last. I work full-time, but would love to turn my part-time passion for filming bikepacking adventures into a career!
